What Every American Needs to Know About Jihad .

(26Feb 07)" Is Islamic jihad just a harmless form of spiritual struggle -- as is often argued by Western apologists for radical Islam? Is Jihadi violence simply a twisted, hijacked version of Islam, rejected by traditional Muslims? The David Horowitz Freedom Center 's new Terrorism Awareness Project , which seeks to educate Americans, and especially college students about jihad, confronts questions such as these. It has produced a powerful new flash video, What Every American Needs to Know About Jihad . This video is adapted from a new pamphlet  by Robert Spencer, which puts the threat of jihadist ideology into historical perspective. As Spencer makes clear, the religious imperatives of jihad demand the subjugation or killing of infidels and form the poisoned logic of Islamists' expansionist war against America and the West."

The Politics of Global Warmingthe greatest deception in the history of science.”

(25Feb 07)“….Timothy Ball is no wishy-washy skeptic of global warming. The Canadian climatologist, who has a Ph.D. in climatology from the University of London and taught at the University of Winnipeg for 28 years, says that the widely propagated “fact” that humans are contributing to global warming is the “greatest deception in the history of science.”…. As soon as people start saying something's settled, it's usually that they don't want to talk about it anymore. They don't want anybody to dig any deeper. It's very, very far from settled. In fact, that's the real problem. We haven't been able to get all of the facts on the table. The IPCC is a purely political setup….the report is the end product of a political agenda, and it is the political agenda of both the extreme environmentalists who of course think we are destroying the world. But it's also the political agenda of a group of people ... who believe that industrialization and development and capitalism and the Western way is a terrible system and they want to bring it down. They couldn't do it by attacking energy because they know that would get the public's back up very quickly. ... The vehicle they chose was CO2, because that's the by-product of industry and fossil-fuel burning, which of course drives the whole thing…” The Politics of Global Warming , Bill Steigerwald, Pittsburgh Tribune-Review “….Global warming has occurred, but it began in 1680, if you want to take the latest long-term warming, and the climate changes all the time. It began in 1680, in the middle of what's called “The Little Ice Age” when there was three feet of ice on the Thames River in London …The world has warmed up until recently, and that warming trend doesn't fit with the CO2 record at all; it fits with the sun-spot data. Of course they are ignoring the sun because they want to focus on CO2….in the theory the claim is that if CO2 goes up, temperature will go up. The ice core record of the last 420,000 years shows exactly the opposite. It shows that the temperature changes before the CO2. So the fundamental assumption of the theory is wrong. That means the theory is wrong… Sea levels have been rising for the last 10,000 years. In fact, 8,000 years ago, sea level was almost 500 feet lower than it is today…. One of the factors that people forget is that most of the ice is already in the ocean, and so if you understand Archimedes' Principle, when that ice melts it simply replaces the space that the ice occupied -- even if the ice caps melt completely..”.

Relax, it's only the sun Climate history and related archaeology suggest that global warming is one huge media beat-up

(22Feb 07) “…When politicians and journalists declare that the science of global warming is settled, they show a regrettable ignorance about how science works. We were treated to another dose of it recently when the experts of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change issued the Summary for Policymakers that puts the political spin on an unfinished scientific dossier on climate change, which is due for publication in a few months' time…..The small print explains very likely as meaning that the experts who made the judgment felt 90 per cent sure about it. Older readers may recall a press conference at Harwell in 1958 when John Cockcroft, Britain 's top nuclear physicist, said he was 90 per cent certain that his lads had achieved controlled nuclear fusion. It turned out that he was wrong. More positively, a 10 per cent uncertainty in any theory is a wide open breach for any latter-day Galileo or Einstein to storm through with a better idea. That is how science really works….” Relax, it's only the sun, Nigel Calder, former editor of the New Scientist, The Australian  “…. Twenty years ago, climate research became politicised in favour of one particular hypothesis, which redefined the subject as the study of the effect of greenhouse gases. As a result, the rebellious spirits essential for innovative and trustworthy science are greeted with impediments to their research careers….While sea-ice has diminished in the Arctic since 1978, it has grown by 8 per cent in the Southern Ocean…..Why is east Antarctica getting colder?" It makes no sense at all if carbon dioxide is driving global warming…..Climate history and related archeology give solid support to the solar hypothesis. The 20th-century episode, or Modern Warming, was just the latest in a long string of similar events produced by a hyperactive sun, of which the last was the Medieval Warming. Climate history and related archeology give solid support to the solar hypothesis. The 20th-century episode, or Modern Warming, was just the latest in a long string of similar events produced by a hyperactive sun, of which the last was the Medieval Warming….humility in face of nature's marvels seems more appropriate than arrogant assertions that we can forecast and even control a climate ruled by the sun and the stars….”

The Struggle for Australian Values in an Age of Deceit

(20Feb 07) “…In the long history of warfare, from the ancient world to our own, there is one weapon whose ability to affect outcomes has always been notorious. Today, technological innovation has made it more powerful than ever. The weapon is propaganda. It affects the attitudes of all societies to warfare but has become especially influential in democracies, where public attitudes to particular wars can determine their outcome….The most powerful single device in the propaganda arsenal is the atrocity story…. The Left regards Howard and his ministers primarily as opportunistic demagogues exploiting an underlying popular culture, which itself is really to blame….It is also a sorry indicator of how deep has become the divide between the political and intellectual Left and the majority of Australians…Today, the Left has expunged both nationalism and working-class heroes from its pantheon. It now regards working people as the main impediment to its dream for the future. They are the racist, sexist rednecks who must be overcome before a harmonious world can be created…” The Struggle for Australian Values in an Age of Deceit , Keith Windschuttle, Quadrant Magazine “…For almost twenty years, Australian intellectuals have been part of a worldwide movement to disparage the nation-state and transfer its key functions to international organisations. This movement is based on two premises: that the nation-state is a racist warlike institution that is now an impediment to world harmony, and that economic globalisation has already rendered much of the role of the traditional nation redundant….apart from falsifying the national story, the Left's other tactic is to render history impotent by trivialising it. This is the outcome of the rise of the sub-disciplines of social history and cultural history….it is clear that, for the past thirty years, the Evangelical Left has bloated itself on such a diet of myth, propaganda and atrocity stories about Australian history, The result is that the critics have seriously deceived themselves about Australian values and the Australian people. Some of their most articulate and influential members have reached the stage where they now openly despise Australia and the majority of Australians. If enough of their opponents do not stand up to argue how wrong they are, this national self-hatred could eventually infect the entire body politic….”

Liberals are now the appeasers of hate

(18Feb 07) “….In the run-up to the overthrow of Saddam Hussein, the rich world's liberals were in danger of becoming ridiculous. At no point before in history had their ideals seemed so dominant….In Bridget Jones's Diary, her retelling of Pride and Prejudice, Helen Fielding summed up the kudos of liberal interventionists when she made her modern version of Mr Darcy, not a landed aristocrat but a "top-notch human rights barrister" and "total sex god": there was no more worthy or desirable occupation for the modern hero…The human rights conventions and international criminal courts with which liberals sought to bind states offered unprecedented protection against crimes great and small….. When asked why they were going along with British MP George Galloway (a leader of the Stop the War coalition who used to suck up to Saddam Hussein) and his kind, the liberal anti-war marchers protested that they didn't support totalitarianism and wanted nothing more than to uphold these exacting standards….for all their reasonableness, and all their good and intelligent arguments, they were in danger of becoming vicious, self-defeating and fraudulent….Europe was a joke. It talked loudly and carried a small stick…” Liberals are now the appeasers of hate , The Australian. An Edited extract from What's Left? How the Liberals Lost Their Way, by Nick Cohen , published by Fourth Estate. Copyright 2007 Nick Cohen “…In the eyes of liberal opinion, the millions of Iraqis who voted for a new government were little better than the receivers of stolen goods….The idea that liberalism imposed the obligation to support others who shared liberal values was as beyond most liberals as it was beyond most of those who called themselves socialists…(Michael) Moore brushed aside the millions forced into exile and the mass graves and torture chambers and decided instead to present life in one of the worst tyrannies of the late 20th century as sweet….So in true Virginia Woolf style, Amnesty, along with a large segment of liberal opinion, pretended that both sides were equally bad and the US and Britain were moral equivalents of totalitarian movements and states….In the liberal and social democratic movements of Europe, fear led to denial, as it did in the '30s, and every upsurge of Islamism was blamed on the root cause of Western provocation…..Like the British liberal-Left outside the Labour Party, the French Left just gave up on principled thought and chanted the slogans of Trotskyists…”

REPOSTED! Wrong problem, wrong solution

(16Nov 06) Christopher Monckton created considerable controversy last week with his article questioning the science that claims human activity is responsible for climate change. Now he challenges the economic assumptions of the Stern report … In the climate change debate, one figure is real. The Sunday Telegraph's website registered more than 127,000 hits in response to last week's article revealing that the UN had minimised the sun's role in changing past and present climate, persisted in proven errors and used unsound data, questionable graphs and meretricious maths to exaggerate future warming threefold. The views of 200 readers who emailed me are in the link above. About a third are scientists, including well-known climatologists and a physicist who confirmed my calculations. Some advise governments. Nearly all condemn the "consensus". Most feel that instead of apologising, the UN has misled them… The UK accounts for just 2 per cent of global emissions, and falling. Even if Britain stopped using energy altogether, global temperature by 2035 would be six thousandths of a degree C less than if we carried on as usual. If we shut down once a week on Planet Day, make that less than one thousandth of a degree…. We are addressing the wrong problem….”   Wrong problem, wrong solution (part 2) Christopher Monckton, www.telegraph.co.uk “…In the UK, energy is about to run out. In 10 years, a third of our power stations will be worn out or against EU pollution laws. By 2035, oil prices could be ten times today's. Our children would be far better off if we sequestered North Sea oil by leaving it in the ground than if we sequestered carbon dioxide at Peterhead. While the Government quixotically tilts at wind power, the Danes, who did it first, have stopped building bird-slicers. You need a wind farm the size of Greater Manchester to match the output of one nuclear power station, and you get not a watt if the wind isn't blowing…. The UK needs to start building (not designing, or arguing about in ten-year planning enquiries) 12 nuclear power stations this year. Nuclear power does not emit CO2. The French, 80 per cent nuclear, have half the UK 's carbon footprint. And what is Stern's policy on nuclear power? "We argue that a portfolio of technologies will be needed." Sci-fi panics such as climate change are dangerous because they distract politicians from what really needs doing….”

REPOSTED! Renowned Scientist Defects from Belief in Global Warming

(16Nov 06) “… Washington DC - One of the most decorated French geophysicists has converted from a believer in manmade catastrophic global warming to a climate skeptic. This latest defector from the global warming camp caps a year in which numerous scientific studies have bolstered the claims of climate skeptics. Scientific studies that debunk the dire predictions of human-caused global warming have continued to accumulate and many believe the new science is shattering the media-promoted scientific “consensus” on climate alarmism. Claude Allegre, a former government official and an active member of France's Socialist Party, wrote an editorial on September 21, 2006 in the French newspaper L'Express titled “The Snows of Kilimanjaro”….Allegre, a member of both the French and U.S. Academy of Sciences, had previously expressed concern about manmade global warming…Allegre has authored more than 100 scientific articles, written 11 books and received numerous scientific awards including the Goldschmidt Medal from the Geochemical Society of the United States. Allegre's conversion to a climate skeptic comes at a time when global warming alarmists have insisted that there is a “consensus” about manmade global warming….” Renowned Scientist Defects from Belief in Global Warming , US Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works , “…Earlier this year, a group of prominent scientists came forward to question the so-called “consensus” that the Earth faces a “climate emergency.” On April 6, 2006 , 60 scientists wrote a letter to the Canadian Prime Minister asserting that the science is deteriorating from underneath global warming alarmists. ….“Observational evidence does not support today's computer climate models, so there is little reason to trust model predictions of the future…Significant [scientific] advances have been made since the [Kyoto] protocol was created, many of which are taking us away from a concern about increasing greenhouse gases. If, back in the mid-1990s, we knew what we know today about climate, Kyoto would almost certainly not exist, because we would have concluded it was not necessary,” the 60 scientists wrote…“It was only 30 years ago that many of today's global-warming alarmists were telling us that the world was in the midst of a global-cooling catastrophe. But the science continued to evolve, and still does…”

REPOSTED! Climate Chaos? Don't believe it

(10Nov 06) “….Sir Nicholas Stern's report on the economics of climate change, which was published last week, says that the debate is over. It isn't….This week, I'll show how the UN undervalued the sun's effects on historical and contemporary climate, slashed the natural greenhouse effect, overstated the past century's temperature increase, repealed a fundamental law of physics and tripled the man-made greenhouse effect….Next week, I'll demonstrate the atrocious economic, political and environmental cost of the high-tax, zero-freedom, bureaucratic centralism implicit in Stern's report; I'll compare the global-warming scare with previous sci-fi alarums; and I'll show how the environmentalists' "precautionary principle" (get the state to interfere now, just in case) is killing people….the UN implies that carbon dioxide ended the last four ice ages. It displays two 450,000-year graphs: a sawtooth curve of temperature and a sawtooth of airborne CO2 that's scaled to look similar. Usually, similar curves are superimposed for comparison. The UN didn't do that. If it had, the truth would have shown: the changes in temperature preceded the changes in CO2 levels….” Climate Chaos? Don't believe it by Christopher Monckton, Sunday Telegraph “…The Antarctic, which holds 90 per cent of the world's ice and nearly all its 160,000 glaciers, has cooled and gained ice-mass in the past 30 years, reversing a 6,000-year melting trend….The entire 20th-century warming from all sources was below 2 watts. The sun could have caused just about all of it. Next, the UN slashed the natural greenhouse effect by 40 per cent from 33C in the climate-physics textbooks to 20C, making the man-made additions appear bigger. Then the UN chose the biggest 20th-century temperature increase it could find. Stern says: "As anticipated by scientists, global mean surface temperatures have risen over the past century." As anticipated ? Only 30 years ago, scientists were anticipating a new Ice Age and writing books called The Cooling….constant repetition of wrong numbers doesn't make them right. Removing the UN's solecisms, and using reasonable data and assumptions, a simple global model shows that temperature will rise by just 0.1 to 1.4C in the coming century, with a best estimate of 0.6C, well within the medieval temperature range and only a fifth of the UN's new, central projection….”

The War against the West

(13Feb07) “….So now we know — schools in Britain can be teaching children from textbooks which follow a curriculum laid down by the Saudi Ministry of Education, and which contain passages comparing Christians and Jews to monkeys and pigs, and yet still be given a clean bill of health by the schools inspectorate OFSTED which pronounces their standard of education ‘satisfactory'…The Daily Mail reported: The textbooks apparently state that the Jews are cursed. Pupils are asked to ‘mention some repugnant characteristics of Jews.' When he asked management whether this complied with British law, he claims he was told: ‘This is not England . It is Saudi Arabia' …..Dr Sumaya Alyusuf, admitted in a tellingly evasive performance that such a textbook had been in use…” The War against the West , Melanie Phillips “….She then insisted on the one hand that the offending passages had never been taught and that only other ‘good' parts of this textbook had been used, while insisting on the other that the ‘monkeys and pigs' reference was a mistranslation. Jeremy Paxman (for it was he) was ready for this and declared that two authorities had confirmed that this was indeed a correct translation. Would she now withdraw the offending textbook? he asked. No she would not, she replied….anyone familiar with the verse in the Koran that describes Jews and Christians as monkeys and pigs, and who knows with what sickening frequency this incitement to hatred is preached in the Muslim world, would instantly recognise Dr Alyusuf's protestations of ‘mistranslation' as pure humbug. As this report shows in detail, the ‘apes and pigs' insult is standard Islamist discourse….”

Beyond burger imperialism

(11Feb07) “….In 2003, Tony Blair spoke to the US Congress. "As Britain knows," he said, "all predominant power seems for a time invincible but, in fact, it is transient. The question is: what do you leave behind?"….An excellent question. Today, three of the Group of Seven major world economies are nations of British descent. Of the 20 economies with the highest gross domestic product per capita, no fewer than 11 are current or former realms of Her Britannic Majesty. And if you protest that most of those are pinprick colonial tax havens - Bermuda, the Caymans - okay, eliminate all territories with populations lower than 20 million and the top four is an Anglosphere sweep: the US, Britain, Canada and Australia…..The key regional players in almost every corner of the globe are British-derived - South Africa, India - and, even among the lesser players, as a general rule you're better off for having been exposed to British rule than not: try doing business in Indonesia rather than Malaysia, or Haiti rather than St Lucia…. As for the allegedly inevitable superpower of the coming century, if China ever does achieve that status, it will be because the people's republic learned more from British Hong Kong than Hong Kong ever did from the Little Red Book….” Beyond burger imperialism (an extract from Mark Steyn's new book “America Alone: The end of the world as we know it”) The Australian,  “….Today, in language, law, politics, business and the wider culture, there is simply nothing comparable in scale or endurance to the Britannic inheritance…. Almost all the supranational bodies - from the EU to the International Criminal Court - are, if not explicitly hostile to American values, at the very least antipathetic to them….. Common values and universal values are not all that common and universal, and the willingness to defend those values is even rarer. They've been sustained over the long haul by a very small group of countries. In the years ahead, the US has to take the American moment seriously - in part, to ensure that the allies of tomorrow don't make the mistakes Western Europe did. That means, at the very minimum, something beyond cheeseburger imperialism. In the end, the world can do without American rap and American cheeseburgers. American ideas on individual liberty, federalism, capitalism, and freedom of speech would be far more helpful.

Look to Mars for the truth on global warming

(11Feb07) “…Climate change is a much, much bigger issue than the public, politicians, and even the most alarmed environmentalists realize. Global warming extends to Mars, where the polar ice cap is shrinking….One explanation could be that Mars is just coming out of an ice age," NASA scientist William Feldman speculated after the agency's Mars Odyssey completed its first Martian year of data collection…NASA's findings in space come as no surprise to Dr. Habibullo Abdussamatov at Saint Petersburg 's Pulkovo Astronomical Observatory. Pulkovo -- at the pinnacle of Russia 's space-oriented scientific establishment -- is one of the world's best equipped observatories and has been since its founding in 1839…."Mars has global warming, but without a greenhouse and without the participation of Martians” he told me…."These parallel global warmings -- observed simultaneously on Mars and on Earth -- can only be a straightline consequence of the effect of the one same factor: a long-time change in solar irradiance….” Look to Mars for the truth on global warming Lawrence Solomon, Financial Post  “…The real news from Saint Petersburg -- demonstrated by cooling that is occurring on the upper layers of the world's oceans -- is that Earth has hit its temperature ceiling. Solar irradiance has begun to fall, ushering in a protracted cooling period beginning in 2012 to 2015. The depth of the decline in solar irradiance reaching Earth will occur around 2040, and "will inevitably lead to a deep freeze around 2055-60" lasting some 50 years, after which temperatures will go up again…."A global freeze will come about regardless of whether or not industrialized countries put a cap on their greenhouse- gas emissions…."

I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore.

(11Feb07) As we head into the State IQ test on March 24, keep this in mind.   I'm as mad as hell, and I'm not going to take this anymore.

The Islamic Mein Kamf

(06Feb07) For those who don't have time to read,  this 5 minute presentation, The Islamic Mein Kamf, makes for Compulsory viewing if for no other reason than everything here is all in their own words…quote after quote after quote. No misunderstanding. No misinterpretation and certainly nothing taken out of context. It encapsulates clearly and concisely the satanic evil at work and the satanic evil that confronts civilisation.

Global Warming-Whose to blame?

Islam is a religion of…WHAT?

(04Feb07) “…Personally, peace for me, would invariably conjure up an image of tranquillity, calm, and in human relationship terms, individually or globally, an absence of hostility and the presence of a tolerant, harmonious co-existence…. Despite most of the world's inhabitants agreeing with the above definition there seems to be one theological school of thought which has an entirely different idea of what constitutes peace, according to Syrian born Dr. Professor Bassam Tibi….” Islam is a religion of…WHAT? by Warner Mackenzie “…The dialogue is not proceeding well because of the two-facedness of most Muslim interlocutors on the one hand and the gullibility of well-meaning Western idealists on the other… The word 'peace,' for example, implies to a Muslim the extension of the Dar al-Islam – or 'House of Islam' – to the entire wor ld. This is completely different from the Enlightenment concept of eternal peace that dominates Western thought, a concept developed by Immanuel Kant, the 18th-century philosopher….According to Tibi, the quest of converting the entire world to Islam is an immutable fixture of the Muslim worldview. Only if this task is accomplished, Only if the world has become a "Dar al-Islam," will it also be a "Dar a-Salam," or a house of peace..”

French panel recommends measures to keep religion out of hospitals

(04Feb07)“…A report issued Monday by a government-appointed panel recommended that France adopt a charter to keep religious traditions and beliefs out of its hospitals and other institutions…. Tensions over religious beliefs in French hospitals, prisons and elsewhere have mounted in recent years, particularly as Muslim fundamentalists find a voice…. Male doctors, particularly in maternity wards, say they are increasingly subject to insults, even blows, most often by men opposed to nudity or physical contact with their wives and daughters…” French panel recommends measures to keep religion out of hospitals , International Herald Tribune “…The conviction last week of Fouhad Ben Moussa highlighted the issue. He pulled Jean-François Oury, head of the maternity ward of Robert Debré Hospital in Paris, from a hospital room in September and slapped him after the doctor examined his wife, who had hemorrhaged after giving birth, according to court testimony…. the National Congress of French Gynecologists and Obstetricians, unusually, issued a statement in October asking, "Do gynecologists and obstetricians now need police protection to practice?"… The statement affirmed that male and female doctors would treat patients "whatever their sex," and said it was the woman who had freedom "to determine contraception, abortion, sterilization without the opinion of her husband…."

Dr. Mark Gabriel

(04Feb07) I don't think experts come any better credentialed than Dr Mark Gabriel. Mark Gabriel was the Professor of Islamic history at Al-Azhar University in Cairo . Al-Azhar is the highest regarded Muslim theological seminary, the Oxford of Islam as it were. Mark Gabriel was also the Imam at Giza City Mosque.Mark Gabriel is also a convert from Islam to Christianity.

A contemporary and local connection is that Mark Gabriel was to be one of three expert witnesses for the Two Danny's (Daniel Scot and Danny Nahlia) in the case of religious vilification brought against them by the Islamic Council of Victoria, for which they were found guilty and have recently had their conviction overturned on appeal.

It's worth noting that Judge Michael Higgins would not allow any of the three expert witnesses put forward by the Two Danny's, including Mark Gabriel but allowed the three expert witnesses for the ICV to give evidence. This interview with Dr. Mark Gabriel gives you any opportunity for you to see and hear the man himself.

The Muslim Ashura Festival and Child Abuse

(04Feb07) Strap yourself in!!!  This has to be the apogee of cultural relativism.

The philosophy that holds that all cultures, beliefs, rituals and religions are equal. I think you will agree when you read this and view the photo's below that there are some religious beliefs and rituals that are the absolute antithesis to the very philosophies and beliefs they espouse and have no redeeming character, quality or  role in the 21 st century..

Bear in mind that this is in the UK, TODAY, not some rat hole in some uncivilised barbaric part of the world or in another time and place.

“…Muslim children as young as six are still being allowed to beat themselves with knives on the end of chains. It is illegal, yet the police are not keen to prosecute. Would other religions get away with it?.... It was supposed to be a routine doctor's appointment. Mrs Abbas wanted someone at a hospital in north London to take a look at the rash under her son's arms. But when the doctor asked 14-year-old Firoz to take off his shirt, he noticed something far more worrying. Criss-crossed on Firoz's back were more than 50 lacerations. The doctor asked for an explanation. Mrs Abbas said that Firoz had inflicted the wounds himself during a religious ceremony; there was nothing to worry about. The doctor called in the child protection agency…. Through interviewing the family, a joint police and social services investigation team found that Firoz had made the lacerations by whipping himself with a zanjeer - a long chain with a set of curved knives attached at the end - as part of a flagellation ritual at the Idara-e-Jaaferiya mosque in Tooting, an area of Wandsworth, south London…” The Muslim Ashura Festival and Child Abuse  “….The investigation team also discovered that Firoz's scars had built up over eight years. He had started using a zanjeer when he was seven. His brothers Hanif and Ijaz, who were 12 and nine at the time of the investigation in 2003, had also participated in the ceremony; they, too, had dozens of knife scars on their backs…. This was not a one-off incident in a single area; it is a national issue. In the past few years, there have been similar cases in Bradford and Blackburn , also involving teenagers and children as young as ten. The commemorative festival of Ashura is central to the identity of Shia Muslims… The use of zanjeers has been going on among Shias for hundreds of years, but until very recently no one seemed to think the ritual would be practised in Britain by second - and third-generation children. Yet it is, and as openly in this country as in India , Pakistan or Iraq ….”

The Greener Pastures Are Mine

(02Feb07) Sheik Hilaly was at  it again recently on television in Egypt saying that that all westerners are liars and that Muslims have a greater right to Australia than those already here. As expected the response of course was one of outrage and incredulity. The Sheik was laughed off by most. However the essay below gives a deeper insight into what drives the Sheik to make such comments. We perhaps should take his superficially inane comments a little more seriously. In short, as you will see, Hilaly was dog whistling the fundamentalist faithful.

This piece is based on the original essay “Do Muslims have a greater right to Australia?” By Alamgir Hussain and the elements and theme have been reworked with the kind permission and approval of the author .

“….Most Australians, along with ill-informed or dissembling Muslims, have denounced the Mufti for what, at first glance, might appear to be outrageous comments. But, say what you will, there can't be any doubt about the Mufti's scholarly credentials or his depth of knowledge in Islamic theology… Just as the prophet Muhammad's words and deeds are considered the most perfect, Muhammad himself is vaunted as a model for all Muslims to emulate for all time and in all places. Therefore, the Prophet's emigration from Mecca to Medina in September 622 CE ( known as the Hijra ) is the perfect parallel for an accurate examination of this latest controversy…. The Prophet Muhammad, in Mecca , with his fledgling community of fewer than 100 was not attracting converts, and had miserably stalled….  Burdened with such a distressing sense of failure and to avoid persecution, the prophet requested refuge in Medina which was quickly granted….We need to examine the activities of the Prophet in Medina and determine if a Muslims' conduct  in the West conforms to those of the Prophet…. We will examine this in relation to Mufti Hilali's apparently outrageous comment about Muslims' possessing a greater right to Australia than those of European ancestry…” The Greener Pastures Are Mine by Warner Mackenzie (from the original article “Do Muslims have a greater right to Australia?” by Alamgir Hussain) “…The Prophet, like the Muslim immigrants in the West, arrived in Medina with his  down-at-heel Muslim converts as refugees however the indigenous Jews of Medina, who had graciously allowed the Prophet to settle in their midst just a few years earlier, were now required to convert to Islam to be able to continue living in their own land ( the sovereignty of which had ,incidentally, now been arbitrarily transferred to the prophet and his God.)…. So, was Mufti Hilali wrong? Absolutely not!, quite the opposite, in fact he is absolutely correct according to the precepts of Islam. Due to the covenant between the Muslims and their God, the e arth, in its entirety, belongs to Allah, and by extension, to his faithful community the Umma , (the worldwide Muslim community) . And it's not only Australia . Muslims consider they have greater rights over all non-Muslims to the four corners of the earth, even countries with no Muslim inhabitants are viewed as areas marked for future inclusion by conquest….”
