Free Speech Is Unfair To Losers

(30June07) “…Several of my liberal friends have a funny conversational tic: Whenever the talk wanders into certain topics, they abruptly switch off --- change the subject, or urgently go off to do something else… That's what Sigmund Freud called "signal anxiety" --- or mentally going "Eeeek!" --- there's danger up ahead! Don't let your thoughts run that way….The Left has controlled the media at least since the 1970s, and actually even back to the 1930s. As a result of their monopoly they have lost the ability to compete intellectually --- to persuade by logic and evidence. Instead, they think that just stating their often bizarre and simply false opinions is good enough. But it's not…” Free Speech Is Unfair To Losers , American Thinker “….When people become afraid of following a thought to its logical conclusion, they can no longer think….Free speech is unfair to intellectual losers. That's why the "Fairness Doctrine" is raising its Medusa head again. Liberals want government-enforced equality because genuine intellectual opposition scares them….The fear of free speech is the fear of skepticism. All stagnant  orthodoxies fear doubters, just as Pope Leo xxx feared Galileo, --- who was a feeble old man when he was sentenced to compulsory silence…. It's that fear of its own inner self-doubt that makes the Left instinctively reach for the censor's rubber stamp  --- the one that says PROHIBITED THOUGHT ! in capital letters….”

Secret Trials for Terrorists says US judge

(30June07) “…A top ranking US judge has stunned a conference of Australian judges and barristers in Chicago by advocating secret trials for terrorists, more surveillance of Muslim populations across North America and an end to counter-terrorism efforts being "hog-tied" by the US constitution …. His proposed "big brother" solutions flabbergasted delegates at the Australian Bar Association's biennial conference, where David Hicks's lawyer, Major Michael Mori, is to be awarded honorary life membership…. What we have to do is discover the extent of the terrorist threat to the US . There is a danger, and it demands a rethinking of some of our conventional views on the limits of national security measures…” Secret Trials for Terrorists says US judge , The Australian “…Melbourne QC Tim Tobin said it was a shock to hear such hard and isolationist positions coming from a judge known as a liberal thinker. While he was disturbed by the judge's proposed crackdown on US and Canadian Muslims, he suspected the sentiment would be welcomed by the Howard Government…. Queensland SC Glenn Martin said he had been "jolted" by the address… (Judge Posner) said it was "quite misplaced" to suggest national security measures in force or contemplated in the US could endanger liberty and undermine the political system. This was because governments could no longer conceal what they did: "We have a very aggressive media and a huge and complex government where many people in the government are quite willing to talk to the press."

The Clintons Lulled Us Into War

(30June07) “…,Rudy Giuliani makes it clear that if he and Hillary Clinton are the nominees in 2008, she will have to answer why co-president Bill didn't treat the 1993 WTC bombing as al-Qaida's Pearl Harbor …. One of Hillary's campaign themes, in addition to the general conduct of the war on terror, will no doubt be a variation of the "Bush lied us into war" theme pushed by her party's hard-left base and the likes of George Soros and the good folks at MoveOn.org….First, she'll have to explain why she was for the war in Iraq before she was against it. She'll also have to explain what her co-president spouse meant in 1998 when he signed the Iraq Liberation Act. The legislation made the overthrow of the regime of Saddam Hussein the official policy of the United States . Bush just carried it out….” The Clintons Lulled Us Into War , Investors Business Daily “…Giuliani said: "Islamic terrorists killed more than 500 Americans before Sept. 11. Many people think the first attack on America was on Sept. 11, 2001. It was not. It was in 1993." He went on to say that "bin Laden declared war on us. We didn't hear it."As Giuliani pointed out, the die was cast in February 1993, when Bill Clinton chose to treat that attack as a law enforcement matter…At any time, after the 1993 attack, after Khobar Towers, after the embassy bombings, after the attack on the Cole, Bill Clinton could have used his bully pulpit to identify the gathering threat, respond to these acts of war and inspire all Americans to rally around him. He didn't. They didn't. Inaction also has consequences, and just as World War II really began with Hitler's unopposed march into the Rhineland, the war on terror, which includes Iraq, really began in the parking garage of the World Trade Center in 1993…”

Why Target Carbon

(30June07)“…How curious it is that the massive effort to protect the Earth against catastrophic climate change should be targeted against carbon–the basic building block of life! And specifically against the CO 2 that constitutes a mere 0.038% of Earth's atmosphere, about 380 parts per million (ppm)….. While the talk is about limiting emissions , the goal is to “stabilize” atmospheric content of CO 2 at pre-industrial levels…..This assumes that (1) the level was previously stable; (2) CO 2 content was optimal before the Industrial Revolution; (3) man has the ability to change the CO 2 concentration significantly; (4) the only or best way to change the level is by reducing or capturing emissions from hydrocarbon fuels….Of course, it is also assumed that increased atmospheric CO 2 is the cause of global warming–an assertion disproved by definitive evidence ( CDP , March 2007 ) but nonetheless widely believed…..” Why Target Carbon , Physcians for Civil Defense  “…There are five reservoirs of carbon on earth that are biologically accessible on a short time scale, all of comparable size: the atmosphere (the smallest, containing about 750 gigatons carbon, GtC), land plants, topsoil, the surface layer of the oceans, and proven reserves of hydrocarbon fuels (some 4,000 GtC). Human beings are said to release about 5.5 GtC per year through combustion of fuels and cement production, and 1.1 GtC by other means such as deforestation…..In the summer of 2003, retreating perennial ice of the Schnidejoch in the Swiss Alps uncovered a 4,700-year-old archer's quiver. Subsequent finds revealed that there had been four periods warmer than today during the past 5,000 years (Henrik Svensmark and Nigel Calder, The Chilling Stars–a New Theory of Climate Change )….6,000 years ago, the warmest period in the interglacial era, rock paintings in the Sahara showed herds of cows and giraffes…. Insurance is designed to pay you money after a loss; it does not prevent a loss. The valid comparison, writes Orson Scott Card, is to protection money. “That's what the global-warming protection racket is about: Hey, we can't prove anything is happening, but look how many people we've got to agree with us! You'd better make a whole bunch of sacrifices [that], by coincidence, exactly coincide with the political agenda of the anti-Western, anti-industrial religion of ecodeism–or global warming will get you...”

The Iranian Pincer

(28June07) “….Britain gazes upon the butchery in Gaza and is shocked. Shocked! How could the Palestinians be behaving in this way, it wails?.... now the lie is sickeningly exposed for all to see. Palestinians throwing each other off the tops of tall buildings. Churches ransacked and Bibles burned. Hospital patients being treated for their injuries gunned down in those same hospitals…. Decent, rational people, however, can see that that this is a struggle for mastery between people who have brutalised themselves. Those who turn their own children into human bombs will behave in the same depraved way towards each other….The reason for this deluded approach is the fundamentally flawed western belief that the ‘two state solution' will end the Middle East impasse. The fact is that the ‘two state solution' has been on offer since 1922…This continued delusion is further preventing the west from grasping that the war against Israel is merely one front in a far bigger war against the free world, in which Iran is the major player. Iran now controls Hamas in Gaza and Hezbollah in Lebanon , and is wreaking havoc in Iraq and Afghanistan …..” The Iranian Pincer , Melanie Phillips “….Egypt now has the nightmare of both the Muslim Brotherhood and Iran on its doorstep in Gaza, and Jordan is eyeing the same prospect on the West Bank….Long-term, the solution lies in Jordan and Egypt exercising their own self-interest. A Jordan-West Bank confederation is now being floated; the same logic would mean Egypt re-occupying Gaza ….Despite the fact that this idea would take us back 40 years, it has certain attractions. Order would be restored by Jordan and Egypt which, unlike Israel , would tackle Hamas with a vigour from which our own principled multiculturalists would not dream of demurring…. …The Palestinians would be in the state they were given in 1922. The Arab world would finally take responsibility for a tragedy they themselves created. The Iranian pincer would be broken….”

Last Chance for Abbas

(24June07) “…. Gaza is now run not by a conventional political party but by a movement that is revolutionary, Islamist and terrorist. Worse, Hamas is a client of Iran . Gaza now constitutes the farthest reach of the archipelago of Iranian proxies: Hamas in Palestine , Hezbollah in Lebanon , the Mahdi Army (among others) in Iraq and the Alawite regime of Syria ….This Islamist mini-replica of the Comintern is at war not just with Israel but with the moderate Arab states, who finally woke up to this threat last summer when they denounced Hezbollah for provoking the Lebanon war with Israel….There is nothing to do with the self-proclaimed radical Islamist entity that is Gaza but to isolate it. No recognition, no aid, no diplomatic commerce….Israel now has the opportunity to establish deterrence against unremitting rocket attacks from Gaza into Israeli villages. Israel failed to do that after it evacuated Gaza in 2005, permitting the development of an unprecedented parasitism by willingly supplying food, water, electricity and gasoline to a territory that was actively waging hostilities against it….” Last Chance for Abbas , Charles Krauthammer, Washington Post  “…With Hamas now clearly in charge, Israel should declare that it will tolerate no more rocket fire -- that the next Qassam will be answered with a cutoff of gasoline shipments. This should bring road traffic in Gaza to a halt within days and make it increasingly difficult to ferry around missiles and launchers….If that fails to concentrate the mind, the next step should be to cut off electricity…let's remember who Abbas is….his Fatah party is ideologically spent and widely discredited. Historian Michael Oren points out that the Palestinian Authority has received more per capita aid than did Europe under the Marshall Plan….Abbas is not Hamas. But despite the geographical advantages, he does not represent the second coming, either. We can prop him up only so much. In the end, the only one who can make a success of the West Bank is Abbas himself. This is his chance. His last chance.

Politics of empty gesture

(24June07) “…Kevin Rudd calls climate change "the great moral challenge of our times". His guru, German theologian Dietrich Bonhoeffer, certainly wouldn't have agreed, given his old-fashioned preoccupations with abortion and eugenics. But it's the kind of rhetorical flourish that probably tells us all there is to know about the Opposition Leader's moral compass….Labor holds it as an article of faith that there can be no serious response to climate change unless and until Australia ratifies the Kyoto Protocol. That is the beginning and the end of what the Australian Labor Party is pleased to call its comprehensive approach to climate change. It's no more than a shibboleth, as group-defining as a Masonic handshake and almost as much of an anachronism…. As a policy, it is intellectually threadbare because most of what it has delivered is the illusion of making a difference rather than the reality….” Politics of empty gesture , Christopher Pearson, The Australian “….For people looking for some sort of insurance against the risks climate change is said to pose, the debate moved beyond Kyoto years ago….The existing Kyoto targets cover barely one-third of global emissions. The agreement does not cover the US , India or China , leading emitters now and for the foreseeable future….Were Rudd's Labor as serious as it claims to be about climate change, there is another crucial policy it would have to reconsider. Of those countries in western Europe that have achieved significant emission reductions, almost all have nuclear power generation or access to nuclear-powered electricity grids….The ALP remains obsessed with a shambolic and unworkable Kyoto system. Yet at the same time, as John Howard never tires of pointing out, it remains an unwavering ideological opponent of the one energy source capable of providing an alternative baseload electricity supply with negligible carbon emissions….”

Two-state solution finally works

(17June07) So much for the argument that Israel is the root of all problems for the Palestinians

“…The Hamas victory over Fatah in Gaza on June 14 has great importance for Palestinians, for the Islamist movement and for the US . It has rather less significance for Israel …..Tensions between Fatah and Hamas are likely to endure and, with them, the split between the West Bank and Gaza . The emergence of two rival entities, "Hamastan" and "Fatahland", is the culmination of a long-submerged conflict….Internationally, Fatah and Hamas engaging in war crimes against each other punctures a supreme myth of modern politics: Palestinian victimisation. Further, as two Palestines squabble over control of, say, the UN seat granted in 1974 to the Palestine Liberation Organisation, they damage a second myth of a Palestinian state. "The Palestinians have come close to putting, by themselves, the last nail in the coffin of the Palestinian cause," Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal observes…..A Palestinian journalist notes sarcastically: "The two-state solution has finally worked…” Two-state solution finally works , Daniel Pipes, The Australian “….As for Israel , it faces the same existential threat as before. It gains from Hamas's near isolation from the West, from the fractured Palestinian movement and from it having a single address in Gaza . It also benefits from having an enemy, Hamas, overt in its intention to eliminate the Jewish state, rather than dissimulating, as with Fatah….The so-called moderate terrorists of Fatah and the bad terrorists of Hamas equally inculcate children with a barbaric creed of martyrdom. Both agree on eliminating the Jewish state. Neither shows a map with Israel present, or even Tel Aviv…. Fatah's willingness to play a fraudulent diplomatic game has lured woolly-minded and gullible Westerners, including Israelis, to invest in it….One of these days, maybe, the idiot-savant "peace processors" will note the trail of disasters their handiwork has achieved….”

The Nonsense That is Global Warming

(17June07) “….Some years ago a British newspaper arranged a square-off between a meteorologist, an astrologer and a woman with corns, to see who could best predict the weather. The woman with corns won… In almost every newspaper around the world and at least once a week, some report surfaces suggesting we stay worried in the light of latest figures and analyses. Not only is Global Warming occurring, we are assured, but it is now accelerating at some alarming rate and pretty soon the poles will have all melted, the sealevels will have risen and all low-lying atolls and seaside villages will be covered over with this calamitous rising tide. And apparently this gigantic catastrophe is due to human behaviour…. We are informed that if our wicked CFC and CO2-producing ways continue, we will be doomed as a civilisation. Today we are so buffeted by what is put forth as irrefutable evidential science as to the nature of the so-called problem, that we don't even think to question it on any basic level… The result is that the picture many now have is of the Earth heating up and hotter now than it has ever been. But... 1999 was cooler than the year before and since 1998 the world has been cooling. The hottest day in all recorded history was at Al Azizah in Libya back in 1922. There was warming from the 1880s to the 1940s, then a cooling for the next 40 years… Look outside. Do you see any global catastrophe? Point to an ocean that is rising. Point to a methane cloud….” The Nonsense That is Global Warming “….Demonstrate in any lab how CO2 could rise past a few hundred feet of what we used to call haze, or significantly increase in the atmosphere and therefore be harmful… Fact: CO2 occupies 0.035% of the atmosphere. If it doubled it would only be 0.07%. We can all live with that. 99.9% of all the world's CO2 is at ground level or below, 71% being dissolved in the oceans….. Fact: Like CO and N2O, CO2 is heavier than air. By how much? The molecular weight of air is 29, that of CO2 is 44, nearly double. CFCs have a MW of 100. It is therefore utterly impossible for these super-heavy gases to rise to form a 'greenhouse cover.' Wind and diffusion can transport gases but that is to do with mother nature, not man, and the warmers are claiming a rising of gases is taking place due purely to humans and quite apart from wind, thermals, tornadoes and whatever else the processes of nature will do. Our question is, what can possibly make heavier than air gases rise 20 miles to get above 99% of the atmosphere and significantly increase the constant water-vapor-dominated greenhouse cover that enables life to continue to thrive at an average temperature of 13-15degC on the surface of this planet? CO2 does not rise. If it did, fire extinguishers wouldn't work. A party balloon blown up with the breath would fly straight upwards as if it was filled with helium…”

Radical Islam's “End-Game

(17June07) “…To look at the situations in Iraq and Gaza as separate conflicts is to view them in a naïve and overly simplistic way. True, the battles taking place in Gaza are more akin to a civil war, if in fact a civil war can take place without a recognized country to govern….And the battles taking place in Iraq are almost completely instigated at the hands of al Qaeda terrorists hell-bent on creating chaos with violence while destroying any chance of democracy in that nation. But what the less visionary among us are deficient in understanding and neglectful or deceitful in not addressing is the reason they are fighting, their goal, their end-game….What can be addressed here is the “end-game.”…When one examines the facts and logistics of Islamofascist aggression – both in history and modern times – it is hard to argue that the basis for this aggression is Western influence on the Islamic culture. If this were the sole reason for Islamofascist aggression there would be no excuse for attacks in the name of Islam on the Hindus or Buddhists or in any nation that doesn't embrace Western values such as Thailand , Somalia or most of Indonesia . Yet, the slaughter of innocents in the name of Islam does take place against these people and in these non-Westernized regions…” Radical Islam's “End-Game by Frank Salvato “…While the many elements of this subject are complex, together they indicate an overall agenda that is not….the goal is the same : the successful establishment of a global Islamic state – or Caliphate – ruled under Sharia Law…If we are to take the leaders of the Islamofascist movement at their word – and the leaders of the United States and the West have been delinquent in accepting the declarations of fascists in the past, so much so that world war has ensued – we can only surmise that the battles taking place between Sunni and Shi'ite factions in Iraq, Gaza and elsewhere in the world are for dominance in what they perceive as an inevitable global Islamic Caliphate…. Make no mistake. We are essentially re-visiting the ominous days of 1938. It took everything that the freedom loving people of the world could muster to vanquish evil then. This time we may not be so lucky. This time the forces of evil will have nuclear capability….”

Self-Rule? Try Mob Rule

(17June07) ISRAEL 'S disengagement from Gaza , completed 22 months ago, has succeeded….. It was a demonstration project of a sort - an experiment in Palestinian self-rule…. Someone asked Benjamin Frank lin what America got out of the Constitutional Convention of 1787. His reply: "A republic - if you can keep it." So it was with Gaza in August 2005. The Palestinians got a "homeland, if you can keep it." What they got instead was hell on earth…..What they got was two brutally murderous gangs, Fatah and Hamas, competing for power by throwing people off the roofs of buildings and slaughtering rivals in front of their wives and children…” Self-Rule? Try Mob Rule , John Podhoretz, New York Post ”…What they got was Tony Soprano (Fatah) vs. Phil Leotardo (Hamas)…This isn't a civil war - it's a gang war….Ah, the joys of self-rule…What's the problem? The problem is that the Jews weren't the problem. The problem is that the Palestinians are the problem: They are drenched in an ideology of blood and murder and suicide. A new nation must be brought into being, nurtured and built. But Palestinian political culture is a culture of destruction.

Where are the civilian casualities in Palestinian fighting

(17June07)“…I've been searching and searching for reports of civilian casualties in the current fighting between Hamas and Fatah and guess what? I could not find a single instance. These guys must have very precise weapons. On the BBC website I visited last night, there was even a prominently displayed "photo gallery" of the conflict…” Where are the civilian casualities in Palestinian fighting Adolfo G. Fabregat  “…There, I saw pictures of rubble but not to my surprise no babies buried in it; I saw pictures of burnng buildings but none of them were schools or hospitals; and I read reports of casualties but always vaguely referred to as "people killed"….Notice how they all say "people", but remember last summer when Israel was involved it is always babies or "innocent bystanders". ( no stuffed toys or dusty babies' dummies and dolly's either.......funny that)

In Gaza's Shadow

(15June07)“…Wonder what Iraq would look like if we left tomorrow? Take a look at Gaza today. Then imagine a situation a thousand times worse. We need to stop making politically correct excuses. Arab civilization is in collapse. Extremes dominate; either through dictatorship or anarchy…We gave them a chance in Iraq . Israel "gave back" the Gaza Strip to let the Palestinians build a model state. Arabs seized those opportunities to butcher each other…. Educated Palestinians flee, if they can. Civilians cower, wondering where the next rocket-propelled grenade will hit. And, amid the carnage, students risk death to take their final exams so they can qualify to study abroad - and get out. The indiscriminate violence is the Palestinian version of democracy: Every citizen gets a chance to be killed… In Iraq , terrorists returned to Samarra to finish the job of destroying the Golden Mosque - the 2006 bombing of which ignited months of gruesome Shia-Sunni violence…” In Gaza's Shadow , by Ralph Peters, The New York Post “…Look at Gaza , at the orgy of self-destructive savagery, the macho idiocy, the junkyard-dog religion and the murder-suicide cult sweeping Arab civilization…. In Iraq , we have foreign terrorists fighting everybody, Sunni Arabs fighting Shia, Shia fighting Shia, Sunni fighting Sunni, Christians and other minorities persecuted by Sunni and Shia, Kurds struggling to preserve their patch of civilization…. When Lebanon tried to achieve a semblance of democracy, Syria embarked on a killing spree that, to this day, has had no tangible consequences for the Assad regime. When elections came to the Palestinian territories, the Palestinians voted for terrorists… We're stuck in Iraq , and it sucks. But were we to leave in haste, far more blood than oil would flow in the Persian Gulf . The disaster in Gaza 's just a rehearsal for the Arab-suicide drama awaiting its opening night in Iraq ….”

Freedom, not climate is at risk

(15June07) “…W e are living in strange times. One exceptionally warm winter is enough – irrespective of the fact that in the course of the 20th century the global temperature increased only by 0.6 per cent – for the environmentalists and their followers to suggest radical measures to do something about the weather, and to do it right now…..The dictates of political correctness are strict and only one permitted truth, not for the first time in human history, is imposed on us. Everything else is denounced. The author Michael Crichton stated it clearly: “the greatest challenge facing mankind is the challenge of distinguishing reality from fantasy, truth from propaganda”. I feel the same way, because global warming hysteria has become a prime example of the truth versus propaganda problem…”   Freedom, not climate is at risk by Vaclav Klaus, President of the Czech Republic “…As someone who lived under communism for most of his life, I feel obliged to say that I see the biggest threat to freedom, democracy, the market economy and prosperity now in ambitious environmentalism, not in communism. This ideology wants to replace the free and spontaneous evolution of mankind by a sort of central (now global) planning……Does it make any sense to speak about warming of the Earth when we see it in the context of the evolution of our planet over hundreds of millions of years? The issue of global warming is more about social than natural sciences and more about man and his freedom than about tenths of a degree Celsius changes in average global temperature….”

Reality bites the psychotic left

By refusing to face modern realities, the Australian Left has dealt itself out of the national debate

(13June07)“…The hallmark of the disaffected intellectuals is their hyperbole, as evidenced from the latest tract to appear from the "silenced" Left, David Marr's Quarterly Essay , His Masters Voice: The Corruption of Public Debate under Howard. As David Burchell pointed out in The Weekend Australian , Marr wants us to believe that Mr Howard's influence over the national psyche is so intense that just about every act of suppression in our public life is somehow attributable to the Prime Minister….The silencing of dissent thesis tells us more about the current health of the cultural Left than it does about the health of the nation. While the Left is still fighting the intellectual battles of the 1970s, the rest of the world has moved on. Progressive only in their own, inflated self image, the commentariat finds itself stranded on the outer fringes of the national debate, stuck in an intellectual cul-de-sac without the courage or confidence to retrace its steps. Their voices have not been silenced, they have simply lost their relevance…” Reality bites the psychotic left , The Australian Editorial; June 10 2007 “….The marginalisation of the self-styled progressives has only served to reinforce their unshakable belief in their own moral superiority. This conceit informs the kind of rigid political correctness that shuts down debate….On one of the burning topics of the day, climate change, this profound hatred of capitalism has led them down another philosophical dead end which advocates a romantic vision of suffering for a cause. Rather than objectively assess the realities of climate change and the practical task ahead they advocate symbolic, but ultimately futile, penance….Today's Left has allowed itself to become trapped in a parallel universe, out of touch and far removed from the mainstream where the real Australian discourse takes place. It is not just a geographical divide….It is a class divide between an elite on one side and the mass of ordinary people on the other. It is not just Mr Howard they hate but Mr Average…”

Banned UN Speech, Human Rights Nightmare

(11June07) Here's what's wrong with the United Nations. Summed up in four and half minutes Banned UN Speech, Human Rights Nightmare

Europeans' flight from Europe

(11June07) “…Last year more than 155,000 Germans emigrated from their native country. Since 2004 the number of ethnic Germans who leave each year is greater than the number of immigrants moving in. While the emigrants are highly motivated and well educated, "those coming in are mostly poor, untrained and hardly educated…. The situation is similar in other countries in Western Europe . Since 2003, emigration has exceeded immigration to the Netherlands . In 2006, the Dutch saw more than 130,000 compatriots leave… This indicates that the flight from Europe is related to a loss of confidence in the future of nations which have taken in the Trojan horse of Islamism, but which, unlike the Trojans, lack the guts to fight….” Europeans' flight from Europe, Paul Belian, The Washington Times “…Elsewhere in Western Europe immigration currently still surpasses emigration, though emigration figures are rising fast. In Belgium the number of emigrants surged by 15 percent in the past years. In Sweden , 50,000 people packed their bags last year -- a rise of 18 percent compared to the previous year and the highest number of Swedes leaving since 1892. In the United Kingdom , almost 200,000 British citizens move out every year…. Europe cannot afford to be "Eldorado" for foreigners any longer, because it has stopped being "home" for thousands of its own educated children, now eagerly looking for opportunities to move to America, Canada, Australia or New Zealand -- white European nations outside Europe…Europe's welfare system is causing a perverse process of population replacement. If the Europeans want to save their culture, they will have to slay the welfare state…”

Al-Qaida Plans Nuclear Attacks on 7 US Cities

(5June07) In light of the events of earlier this week involving attempts to blow up JFK Airport , and the South American links, a new book The Day of Islam  is a timely read.

“….Seasoned investigative reporter and former FBI consultant Paul Williams reveals the alarming potential for nuclear terrorism on U.S. soil and the sinister connections among organized crime, illegal immigrants, and al-Qaida….FBI Director Robert Mueller, in an interview with NewsMax, confirmed Williams' main claim. Mueller said al-Qaida's paramount goal is clear: to detonate a nuclear device that would kill hundreds of thousands of Americans….” Al-Qaida Plans Nuclear Attacks on 7 US Cities , NewsMax “….As Williams shows so clearly, al-Qaida has been devising its nuclear plan since the early 1990s — and the U.S. government and other intelligence services have been well aware of al-Qaida's plan. For example, Williams quotes Michael Scheuer, a senior CIA official who headed the agency's bin Laden unit. Scheuer admitted the CIA "found that [bin Laden] and al-Qaida were involved in an extraordinarily sophisticated and professional effort to acquire weapons of mass destruction — in this case, nuclear weapons; so, by the end of 1996, it was clear that this was an organization unlike any other one we had ever seen…"

Osama's exploits south of border

From May 2006

(5June07) “…Britain's secret intelligence service, MI6, has established the first proof al-Qaida is playing a major role in the new Cold War between North and South America – with Osama bin Laden's terror network seeing itself in league with Mexican subversives in infiltrating the U.S. border….. In the words of a MI6 memo, the situation "is a new and dangerous threat to stability that is also being exploited by al-Qaida." Details of al-Qaeda's penetration into Latin America emerged from documents discovered during recent anti-terrorist operations in Pakistan to try and locate Osama bin Laden. The documents included evidence that al-Qaida has established links with the Colombian terror group, FARC, and the Shining Path, SL, in Peru…. the closest links al-Qaida has are with Venezuela. Exploiting Chavez's latest tirade against the Bush administration, al-Qaida is firmly entrenched in the country…” Osama's exploits south of border WorldNet Daily  “…In 2003, authorities in Silvio Pettirosi International Airport in Asuncion, the Paraguayan capital, reported the arrival of a growing number of visitors carrying European passports, but undoubtedly appearing to be more Middle Eastern than anything else. Some of these "Europeans" could not even speak the language of their so-called mother land. There was very little doubt most of these visitors went on to find their way to the triple border region where Argentina , Brazil and Paraguay meet. This region, often described as a lawless area, is nicknamed by some intelligence station agents as "The Muslim Triangle meeting zone."…. Intelligence experts have been warning since the late 1990s they had noticed a tendency among Islamic terrorists to operate from Paraguay , a landlocked country in the heart of South America, with a territory slightly smaller than California , and with geographic extremes perfect for hiding illegal activities…”

Islam on march south of the border

From June 2005

(5June07) Islam is on the move in Mexico and throughout Latin America, making dramatic gains in converting the native population, increasing immigration, establishing businesses and charities and attracting attention from U.S. government officials who have asked their neighbors to the south to keep an eye on foreign Muslim groups… According to U.S. Ambassador to Venezuela Charles Shapiro, almost every extremist terror group is now represented in Latin America ….” Islam on march south of the border WorldNet Daily “…In the so-called Muslim triangle, where the borders of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay meet, a growing number of Arab-owned businesses are being forced to identify with the Palestinian cause…. Pentagon officials have confirmed human smuggling rings in Latin America are attempting to sneak al-Qaida operatives into the U.S… In March, FBI Director Robert Mueller told a congressional panel that illegal aliens from countries with ties to al-Qaida have crossed into the U.S. from Mexico using false identities. Mueller said some of the aliens are people with Middle Eastern names who have adopted Hispanic last names before coming into the U.S.

Taste for Terror

(4June07) “….Terror in Tripoli . Havoc in Gaza . Palestinians assassinating the innocent and blaming it on their own victimization. Sounds a lot like 1982. Except that yesteryear's political hit-men are now fanatics. And the Palestinians have blown yet another chance - to the relief of their fellow Arabs. No Arab potentate wants the Palestinians to build a successful, rule-of-law state that co-exists with Israel . Nor does a single Arab ruler like democracy in Lebanon …. who are these terrorists whose actions brought the Lebanese army down on their heads? Fatah al-Islam is aligned with al Qaeda and backed by Syria , its immediate mission is to make Lebanon ungovernable…. After winning the last election, Hamas outed itself as a pure-terrorist organization obsessed with killing Israelis and grabbing power for itself - not a party dedicated to improving the lives of the people….” Taste for Terror , Ralph Peters, New York Post “…Average Palestinians would like to get on with the shabby lives left to them. And some are staging a quiet rebellion against Hamas: A significant number of the targets Israel struck over the past several days were identified via Palestinian tip-offs…..the Lebanese have been the long-standing victims of meddling Arab powers and the refusal of larger and far richer Arab states to give Palestinians hope for better lives.
