Why it Isn't Over, Over There

(30Nov05) “..A war is over when the population of the country whose army has lost abandons all hope; when the people have been crushed so thoroughly – when the daily business of staying alive is so god-awful – that they wish only to clean up the mess and re-start their lives… We haven't won the war in Iraq because too many Sunnis still think they can win… And as long as they believe this – it doesn't matter whether it's true, only that they believe it to be true – the war in Iraq won't end.  Why it Isn't Over, Over There The American Thinker “…Lenin, who was a vicious bastard but also a smart vicious bastard, understood this psychology perfectly.  He didn't order the Czar and his entire family to be shot out of revenge; he did it to convince the White Russians who were still fighting the Bolsheviks that a return to the old regime wasn't possible… From what I can see, a high percentage of our generals hold advanced degrees.  That's nice, but in the real world there is such a thing as being too sophisticated.  Perhaps our generals should spend less time learning the intricacies of Excel and PowerPoint , and more time studying how Sherman's brutal march through the South helped end the Civil War. And perhaps our political leaders, in both parties, should shut up long enough to read Sherman 's memoirs.  They just might learn something about how to end a war…”

My battle with liberal Britain

(30Nov05) “.. Shaun Bailey was born on the west London estates that have been linked to investigations into the murder of WPC Sharon Beshenivsky. Here he describes how pop culture and liberal politics have created a feral generation hooked on drugs, crime and violence..” My battle with liberal Britain from the   The Sunday Times “K ids are carrying guns now because guns are linked to bigger crime. They are selling crack because crack has a shorter turnaround and a higher profit than the likes of weed and heroin. People who smoke crack are so desperate they'd do anything for the money. And the dealers get high on the power

The Freedoms We Fight For

(30Nov05) “…Last month Islamic radicals threatened to kill actor and Muslim convert Omar Sharif. Sharif had recently played St. Peter in an Italian TV film and spoke highly of the role, saying that he "seemed to hear voices" during filming and that "it will be difficult for me to play other roles from now on." Although Sharif's comments seem innocuous, they prompted a death threat…This incident is relatively minor in the grand scheme of the war against radical Islam…The threat against  Sharif largely fell below the media's radar…” The Freedoms We Fight For from the The Weekly Standard , “..Both the Rushdie affair and the threats against Durán show how technology has indeed made the world smaller: They are examples of Middle Eastern Muslims attempting to stifle the speech of those who live in the West… In late January, I uncovered a password-protected Arabic-language website, Barsomyat.com, that was frequented by Middle Eastern Muslims, predominantly Egyptians. The purpose of Barsomyat.com was to systematically track Christians who were active in religious debates against Muslims on the internet chat service PalTalk…We in the West haven't always been vigilant about standing behind speech rights. Too often, when Islamists threaten free expression, some Westerners clamor to make excuses for them..”

Farewell to Europe

(28Nov05) “…It is now unmistakable that Europe faces a "perfect storm" of socio-economic, demographic, military and Islamist challenges. As a result, the European Union is poised in the coming decades to become, at best, a strife-ridden, second-rate power, unwilling or unable to help defend the Free World….Today, however, the European project is in shambles. Somewhere along the way, its social market model lost steam and became counterproductive to economic growth. Current statistics indicate that by the mid-1990s, Europe had already begun falling behind the United States , as measured both by GDP and productivity growth..” Farewell to Europe by Frank J Gaffney and Alex Alexiev “..The future looks even more bleak...In the past half-century, the Muslim population in Western Europe has exploded from less than 250,000 to between 15 and 20 million. Although this still represents only a small percentage of the EU's total inhabitants, the Muslim subset is not only rapidly growing. It has also become progressively radicalized…Today, an intolerant and violent extremist political ideology known as Islamofacism has taken hold throughout Muslim communities not just in France but in much of Western Europe . Moreover, this fast-spreading strain is already on its way to becoming the dominant face of Islam in the EU..”

Will Muslims Ever Wake Up

(28Nov05) It's worth noting that Ali Sina is an ex Muslim, a Canadian of Iranian descent. Dr Farrukh Saleem is an Islamabad-based freelance columnist.

“…The combined annual GDP of 57 Muslim countries remains under $2 trillion. America , just by herself, produces goods and services worth $10.4 trillion; China $5.7 trillion, Japan $3.5 trillion and Germany $2.1 trillion. Even India 's GDP is estimated at over $3 trillion… Muslims are 22 percent of the world population and produce less than five percent of global GDP. Even more worrying is that the Muslim countries' GDP as a percent of the global GDP is going down over time..” Will Muslims Ever Wake Up By Ali Sina (quoting an article by Dr Farrukh Saleem) “…Fifty-seven Muslim majority countries have an average of ten universities each for a total of less than 600 universities for 1.4 billion people; India has 8,407 universities, the U.S. has 5,758…Over the past 105 years, 1.4 billion Muslims have produced eight Nobel Laureates while a mere 14 million Jews have produced 167 Nobel Laureates. Of the 1.4 billion Muslims less than 300,000 qualify as 'scientists', and that converts to a ratio of 230 scientists per one million Muslims. The United States of America has 1.1 million scientists (4,099 per million); Japan has 700,000 (5,095 per million).

The Legacy of Jihad in Historical Palestine

(28Nov05) Take time to read and understand this. The Legacy of Jihad in Historical Palestine I think it is fair and reasonable to say and assume that until there is an out in the open, on the table, clear, unambiguous, and unequivocal,  repudiation and declaration that the Grand Plan has changed, (a reformation if you like) then nothing has changed…..

“…The jihad is an institution intrinsic to Islam, and not an isolated event, or series of events:.. .it is a part of the normal functioning of the Muslim world… The conquered populations change status (they become dhimmis), and the shari'a tends to be put into effect integrally, overthrowing the former law of the country. The conquered territories do not simply change ‘owners'. [2]… In the Muslim community, the holy war is a religious duty, because of the universalism of the [Muslim] mission and [the obligation to] convert everybody to Islam either by persuasion or by force…Islam is under obligation to gain power over other nations. [5]… Reconciliation and security last as long as the payment is made. If the payment ceases, then the jihad resumes..” The Legacy of Jihad in Historical Palestine by Andrew G. Bostom   “… During the Abbasid caliphates of Harun al-Rashid (786-809) and al-Mutawwakil (847-861), Jews and Christians were required to wear yellow (as patches attached to their garments, or hats) ( Sound Familiar) “… The brutal nature of the Crusader's conquest of Palestine, particularly of the major cities, beginning in 1098/99 C.E., has been copiously documented. [30] However, the devastation wrought by both Crusader conquest and rule (through the last decades of the 13th century) cannot reasonably be claimed to have approached, let alone somehow “exceeded”, what transpired during the first four and one-half centuries of Muslim jihad conquests, endless internecine struggles for Muslim dominance, and imposition of dhimmitude…”

The Dutch experience with Islam

(22Nov05)“..During the past five years there has been a fierce debate in The Netherlands on the feasibility of a peaceful multicultural society. Ayaan Hirsi Ali, a Somali refugee and now a member of parliament, is outspoken in her warnings against the aggressive nature of Islam and has urged the Government to demand from Dutch Muslims unequivocal acceptance of the Dutch constitution and Western norms and values.” The Dutch experience with Islam  by Paul Schnabel The Australian “…The policy of Integration and Immigration Minister Rita Verdonk can be described as strict adherence to the rule of law. The number of asylum-seekers and immigrants has dropped substantially in recent years (from more than 60,000 10 years ago to less than 10,000) and newcomers are obliged to take integration and language courses"

Fanatics Terrorise A Nation

(22Nov05)“..A year after his (Theo van Gogh's) murder, The Netherlands is a country transformed. Previously, only the Queen and Prime Minister had police protection, and ministers cycled to their ministries. Now, many politicians, writers and artists are considered to be in such danger that they have permanent armed guards and are driven around in bomb-proof armoured cars Fanatics Terrorise A Nation by Anthony Browne, The Australian “..Across town, police are investigating the shot fired at the window of Rita Verdonk, the Immigration Minister, who has become a hate figure among Muslim communities for introducing some of the strictest immigration laws in Europe, and insisting that Muslims should integrate…In The Netherlands, terrorists want to threaten not only the public ... they also want to kill public figures, such as artists, academics and politicians…It is not special in terms of Islam -- in Iran, it is normal to kill people who criticise Islam, as in Egypt and Iraq. It is legitimised by Islamic political theology, which says it is all right to kill someone if they are an enemy of Allah. But this is happening in Europe ."

Not all Muslims want to integrate

(20Nov05) “…Officially, to be sure, France is less multicultural than most European countries - witness its rejection of religious labels in public documents and its ban on hijabs in schools. But enduring segregation is a fact of life in France as it is elsewhere on the continent. Millions of "French Muslims" don't consider themselves French…Many Muslims, wanting to enjoy Western prosperity but repelled by Western ways, travel regularly back to their homelands. From Oslo , where I live, there are more direct flights every week to Islamabad than to the US .” Not all Muslims want to integrate By Bruce Bawer “… What they've reaped, alas, is a generation of Muslims, many of whom view their neighborhoods as colonies amid enemy territory - and who demand this autonomy be recognized. In Britain , imams have pressed the government to designate part of Bradford as being under Muslim law….No surprise, then, that a Muslim rioter in Arhus , Denmark , the other day cried out: "This area belongs to us!" Amir Taheri, editor of Politique Internationale, noted that the main reason for the French riots is not that two youths died hiding from cops in a transformer station; it's that the state responded to the initial unrest by sending police into an area that many locals saw as their own inviolate domain. These riots, in short, are early battles in a continent-wide turf war…”

THE DEATH OF RIGHT AND WRONG: Exposing the Left's Assault on Our Culture and Values

(20Nov05) A review by Bill Muehlenberg from News Weekly  November 5 th 2005:

“..Tammy Bruce ( The New Thought Police ) is angry. And judging by the contents of this book, she has a right to be. She is angry at the damage and destruction being wrought on individuals and societies in the name of moral relativism. And a major source of this tsunami of immorality and amorality, according to Bruce, comes from the radical Left….The pathological narcissism of the loony Left harms everyone, as individual traumas and disorders are foisted upon the rest of society…”   THE DEATH OF RIGHT AND WRONG: Exposing the Left's Assault on Our Culture and Values by Tammy Bruce  “…The Left's attack on Christianity is a major case in point. That is because the church is the main bulwark of moral certitude, something the moral relativists just cannot stand….They talk about freedom and tolerance, but what they really want is the freedom to do whatever they want and for the rest of us to just tolerate it…”

Will London burn too

(19Nov05)“…The process of migrating and establishing a Muslim community in a non-Muslim context has an important place in Islamic theology. The word hijra is used to describe such a migration, in particular the migration of Mohammed and his followers in ad 622 from Mecca, where they were persecuted, to Medina where they established the first Islamic state…Muslims see the establishment of a Muslim community in the UK as a contemporary hijra…” Will London burn too by  Patrick Sookhdeo (Spectator Magazine) “…. A book published in 1980 by the Islamic Council of Europe gives instructions for how Muslim minorities are to work towards achieving domination of European countries through a policy of concentration in geographical areas…Islam is a territorial religion. Any space once gained is considered sacred and should belong to the umma for ever . Any lost space must be regained — even by force if necessary . Migrant Muslim communities in the West are constantly engaged in sacralising new areas…The other important principle is the classic Islamic division of the world into Dar al-Islam (the house of Islam), where Muslims rule, and Dar al-Harb (the house of war). The sinister name for non-Muslim territory indicates that Muslims have an obligation to wage war until it becomes Dar al-Islam…Unless the multiculturalist policy — which has been indirectly facilitating the separatist agenda of radical Islamists — is reversed immediately, we shall wake up and find we have sleepwalked into a situation of apartheid and segregation”

Eurabia Defined

(18Nov05) I have often mentioned the Bat Ye'or book Eurabia . This summation by Andrew Bostom brings into sharp focus why Europe finds itself as the boiling frog of our time. The dilemma Europe is now dealing with, is all their own work. It's hard to work up any sympathy for them. Will we make the same mistake?

“…Eurabia, as Bat Ye'or has demonstrated, now represents a geo-political reality, envisioned in 1973 of informal alliances between the countries of the Arab League and the nine countries of the European Community …Various alliances and agreements were elaborated at the top political level of each European Community country with the representative of the European Commission, and their Arab counterparts within the Arab League. ….Eurabia involves not only an intricate web of agreements covering a remarkably broad range; it is essentially a political project for the total demographic and cultural symbiosis between Europe and the Arab Muslim world ….Respective European and Arab goals for the Eurabian project, are summarized by Bat Ye'or…” Eurabia Defined by Andrew Bostom “… First, the European ambitions : to play a defining political role in international relations in competition with the United States…make the Mediterranean a Euro-Arab inland sea by encouraging massive Arab immigration into Europe, and favoring Muslim immigrants; create Euro-Arab populations by promoting multiculturalism with a strong Islamic presence in Europe; develop a powerful Islamo-Christian symbiosis against Israel, orienting Europe toward Islam, and liberating Christianity from  Judaism, which is viewed by some anti-Semitic factions as the embodiment of evil… The Arab partners, in turn, demanded from Europe: European political independence from the United States, and separation of the trans-Atlantic allies; measures favorable to Arab immigration and dissemination of Arab and Islamic culture in Europe…Euro-Arab Dialogue Symposia conducted 20 to 25 years ago, i.e., in Venice (1977) and Hamburg (1983), included recommendations, that have been successfully implemented, accompanied by a deliberate, privileged influx of Arab and other Muslim immigrants , in enormous numbers … In the wake of the continuing French intifada, Bat Ye'or's analyses have profound implications for Western Europe - which may be incapable of altering its Eurabian trajectory; her research may be even more important for the United States if it wishes to avoid Europe's fate…Eurabia cannot change direction; it can only use deception to mask its emergence, its bias and its inevitable trajectory. Eurabia's destiny was sealed when it decided, willingly, to become a covert partner with the Arab global  jihad against America and Israel …”

Pyjama-Clad Revolutionaries

(18Nov05)“…It wasn't so long ago (25 years, to be exact) that CNN was the new media outlet on the block. And the neighborhood kids turned their noses up at Ted Turner's brainchild. Broadcast newshound Sam Donaldson derided CNN as the "Chicken Noodle Network…The underdogs of our time, journalistically speaking, are bloggers. And the online unraveling of Rathergate was their first unmitigated triumph." Pyjama-Clad Revolutionaries by Andrew Leigh, National Review Online  “…Bloggers don't work nine-to-five; they post around-the-clock. They don't file one story a day; they might update dozens of times throughout a 24-hour period….An internal instant-messaging system will link their correspondents all over the world. If there are any doubts about a report's veracity, they can call on the expertise of their editors instantly…Bloggers, in other words, lean on the collective knowledge of the entire Internet rather than a handful of elites…”

Terrorism: The Root Causes

(17Nov05)“…According to (Samuel) Huntington, Moslems participated in 26 of 50 ethno-political conflicts in 1993 alone.  In that year, the New York Times identified 48 locations in which a total of 59 ethnic conflicts occurred. Half of these were Moslems fighting Moslems, and most of the rest were Moslems fighting non-Moslems ( NY Times , 2/7/93 , pp. 1 & 14, per Huntington).  Similar independent analysis quoted by Huntington for that same year shows that between two-thirds and three-quarters of all the conflicts in the world were Moslems against Moslems, or Moslems against non-Moslems…. Terrorism: The Root Causes By David Meir-Levi in FrontPageMagazine.co m “…It is important to recall that Moslems make up only about 20 percent of the world's population. Yet we see that Moslem countries contribute to the majority of the violence in the world today. Moreover, Arabs make up only about 5 percent of the world's population, yet we witness the phenomenon of Arabs in leadership roles in many, if not most, of the Moslem conflicts, including conflicts emanating from those Moslem countries that are not Arab. We also witness Arab countries that host, train, fund, shelter, supply, and deploy Moslem terrorists…In sum, “Muslim bellicosity and violence are late 20 th century facts which neither Muslims nor non-Muslims can deny,” as Huntington aptly argues. And the situation has only gotten worse in the early 21 st century. Even Saudi and Pakistani commentators have pointed out that while not all Moslems are terrorists, almost all terrorists are Moslems…and most of these are Arabs…”

That non-existent link again

(13Nov05)“…The former Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi has revealed links between Saddam Hussein and al Qaeda which have come to light from the archives of Saddam's regime.” That non-existent link again by Melanie Phillips   “… Allawi is but the latest to attest to the links between Saddam and al Qaeda, a relationship the existence of which has always been denied with religious fervour by the anti-war crowd who claim furthermore that Saddam posed ‘no terrorist threat' at all to anyone outside his own country.

So now let's all look at how this is reported in the mainstream media...”

Islam: The enemy of democracy.

(13Nov05)“…Until 9/11, the western world was largely ignorant of the religion of Islam, of its goals, of its aspirations. Indeed, even since 9/11, most people, and that includes our politicians, would not score very highly in a test of their knowledge on the subject…As the old saying goes, knowledge is power. But what we often don't hear uttered is its converse: Ignorance is weakness!.... we are dealing with a religion which does not recognize any separation of politics and religion, any separation of the political from the spiritual. For Muslims, life is one coherent whole: the political and spiritual both meld into one.” Islam: The enemy of democracy. By Mark Alexander “..In democracy, all power rests with the people, and they exercise that power at the polls. In a democracy, all power filters in the opposite direction from Islam. In democracy it filters up; in Islam, down! Herein lies the greatest barrier to the miscibility of the two worlds: the western world and the Islamic world!... no politicians' sweet talk, posturing, or maneuvering will get us out of this one without conflict at some point in the future….one of the biggest problems for the West is its devotion to the concept of freedom of religion. This is a lofty concept and ideal indeed; but this devotion blinds people to one important reality: Islam is not just a religion, but a political system also.

(Mark Alexander, author “The Dawning of a New Dark Age: a Collection of Essays on Islam”

The End of Western Civilisation

(11Nov05) Sound familiar?  “…The impact of the intrusion of an alien culture upon a failing culture is similar to a parasitic attack suffered by any failing creature. Though the citizens of a declining community are slowly losing their attachments to their own community, they still feel some sense of obligation towards it..” The End of Western Civilisation by Philip Atkinson “…Initially, while the invaders are present only in small numbers, they will treat their host with care and respect. The contempt they must feel about their host's culture will be dissembled, along with their intention to exploit the wealth of their host while avoiding any demands the host may place upon them…. As the invaders numbers grow so will their confidence, and their own culture will start to publicly assert itself….”

Multiculturalism's Threat to Western Civilisation

(11Nov05) “Multiculturalism is premised on the innocuous ideal that immigrants and their children should be encouraged to preserve and celebrate their own culture separately from our national one. Multiculturalism is instead used to promote separatism, disengagement with American values, artificially elevate other cultures in the minds of students, and depreciate the West in order to diminish the value of and objective superiority of Western culture” “…The whole idea of being “multi” cultural sounds so innocuous …. Who could be against such a thing? Who but a “racist” could oppose it? But, this is in fact not “multiculturalism.” This is simply being what has long been called cosmopolitan or even worldly ..” . Multiculturalism's Threat to Western Civilisation by John Clements “…Multiculturalism is not about simply valuing the art, music, cuisine, or festivals of non-Western cultures. It is not about merely being “international” or culturally “diverse.” It is rather, something insidious. It is one thing to not want to put down anyone else's culture, to wish to avoid appearing discriminatory and insensitive or slight their way of life, and quite another to artificially praise it to equal stature with our own … Should anyone be surprised then that years of liberal and leftist assault on Western civilization has now come to fruition? This is what happens when members of a nation state try to repeatedly blame itself for the irresponsible actions and self-induced faults of others. It has produced the long-term fallout of enabling and inculcating in its own house what is, in effect, religiously and culturally motivated political violence —i.e., Islamist terrorism….”

Douce France

(11Nov05)“…The Muslims are indifferent to expenses incurred by the French state. France is part of the world; the world belongs to Allah, and to his Believers. That doctrine has remained immutable for 1400 years… Imam Bouziane, the one they keep trying to deport, had 16 children by two wives, all living on the French state: a representative Muslim man…." Douce France By Hugh Fitzgerald “…At a certain point, and despite everything that causes you not to see what is staring you in the face, you realize that something has gone irreparably wrong with your country, and you, and your children, are in danger of losing that country, down to every village and house… For the moment, you allow yourself to believe that something will come up. Most likely, all those Muslims will simply convert. I mean, they do that, don't they, quite easily I'm told. Of course, why didn't I think of it, that is exactly what will happen. The situation is always saved in time. Just like during the war. Nothing to worry about. Nothing”

Non Violent, yet dangerous

(9Nov05)“…Hizb-ut-Tahrir (HT)  is not a terrorist organization, but it can usefully be thought of as a conveyor belt for terrorists. It indoctrinates individuals with radical ideology, priming them for recruitment by more extreme organizations where they can take part in actual operations….For the global revolution it seeks, HT does not believe it needs large numbers; hundreds of supporters in critical positions are deemed more important than thousands of foot soldiers.” Non Violent, yet dangerous   by Zeyno Baran, International Herald Tribune. “…HT envisions a three-step process. The focus in the first stage is on building the party through recruitment and propaganda. Prospective candidates are brought in through study groups. In the second stage, members are asked to blend in with the population and infiltrate the government. When the second stage is complete, the ground will supposedly be ripe for the third : an Islamic state. HT believes it can carry out the revolution in a nonviolent manner, relying on the penetration of government institutions and the recruitment of key officials…HT aims to overthrow governments, since it sees regimes there as direct obstacles to resurrecting the caliphate. In the West, HT's aim is to unite Muslims on the basis of their Islamic identity and prevent their assimilation into Western culture….”

French Lessons

(9Nov05) “…We get into wars, then, when we think that we will win and our enemies think that they will. We are at war today because the terrorists think that they will win. To end the war, we must convince them that they will lose. We will end it, not by making them hate us less, but by making them fear us more….The war did not begin with 9/11 or even with earlier terrorist attacks. It began 1,383 years ago .  It only resumed in recent decades after an intermission of obvious military superiority of the West over the Islamic world. It resumed when enough fact and fantasy accumulated in the minds of the terrorists to lead them to expect victory…The lesson of Blainey's book for us is that we should grind our boot into the neck of our prostrate enemy until every last delusion flees his demented mind, whether that takes three centuries or three millennia. We are going to be hated; let us also be feared…” French Lessons (The American Thinker) by Jonathan David Carson.”…The problem for the London mullah and for Islam in general is that selective application of the idea that everything that happens, happens because it is willed by God is untenable in the long run. If God wills military victory, then God must also will military defeat. If God wills the ascent of Islam, God must also will its descent. Muslims are bound to wonder, “If God wants Islam to prevail, why do its armies keep losing?”…. The mainstream media has been maximizing bad news from Iraq and minimizing good news. United States victory would harm its credibility and terrorist victory enhance it. The ignorant academic world, the corrupt educational establishment, sick Hollywood liberals, freedom-hating civil libertarians, inhuman human rights advocates, corporate sellouts, State Department bureaucrats, CIA shadows: all will lose power from United States victory and gain power from United States defeat….”

Gramsci; Godfather of the Leftist Culture War

(8Nov05)“…If you want to grasp the far left and what it really wants behind the sound bites, you have to understand Antonio Gramsci Gramsci held that it was because most people actually don't care about politics, such is their obsession with the minute details of their own lives. Therefore, Gramsci told Marxists neither to seek nor expect the masses to "spontaneously" move towards Communism. Instead, he instructed leftists instead to "Capture the Culture"…..Gramsci understood that a society has several "nerve centres"; its mass media, its churches, its trade unions, its schools and university's etc." Gramsci; Godfather of the Leftist Culture War, a view from the bloggosphere by Michael from Manchester “…These nerve centres had, and still have, tremendous and massive influence in shaping the culture of a nation…. Gramsci also understood that leftists would have to camouflage their intentions… This advice quickly influenced leftists like Norman Thomas, the American Socialist Party candidate who once wrote: " The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism, but under the name of liberalism they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program until one day America will be a socialist nation without ever knowing how it happened " ….Gramsci had a special contempt for the Christian religion, although he had to concede its undoubted role in influencing a nations culture. Rather than try and ban the church, he understood the better tactic was to infiltrate it, and corrupt its doctrines so completely that it would effectively become the spiritual wing of the PC lobby…”

Why Paris Is Burning

(6Nov05) “…Bands of youths in balaclavas start by setting fire to parked cars, break shop windows with baseball bats, wreck public telephones and ransack cinemas, libraries and schools. When the police arrive on the scene, the rioters attack them with stones, knives and baseball bats… These scenes are not from the West Bank but from 20 French cities, mostly close to Paris , that have been plunged into a European version of the intifada that at the time of writing appears beyond control…” Why Paris Is Burning by Amir Taheri “…The French used to flatter themselves for the success of their policy of assimilation, which was supposed to turn immigrants from any background into "proper Frenchmen" within a generation at most…. France has also lost another powerful mechanism for assimilation: the obligatory military service abolished in the 1990s. As the number of immigrants and their descendants increases in a particular locality, more and more of its native French inhabitants leave for "calmer places," thus making assimilation still more difficult…. In some areas, it is possible for an immigrant or his descendants to spend a whole life without ever encountering the need to speak French, let alone familiarize himself with any aspect of the famous French culture…”

MSM blackout on the intifada in Denmark

(6Nov05) “…It's not just Paris. Successive nights of riots have rocked parts of Århus, the second largest city in Denmark . Little to nothing has appeared in the English language press about the second front in the Eurabian intifada”   MSM blackout on the intifada in Denmark "The MSM ( Main Stream Media) has done everything possible to minimize the Islamicist nature of the violence in Europe, and has blacked-out coverage of the Danish front.…”

The Barbarians at the Gates of Paris

(6Nov05) It's worth noting this was first published in 2002

“…The laxisme of the French criminal justice system is now notorious. Judges often make remarks indicating their sympathy for the criminals they are trying (based upon the usual generalizations about how society, not the criminal, is to blame)....Benevolence inflames the anger of the young men of the cités as much as repression, because their rage is inseparable from their being. Ambulance men who take away a young man injured in an incident routinely find themselves surrounded by the man's “friends,” and jostled, jeered at…” The Barbarians at the Gates of Paris by Theodore Dalrymple (2002)  “…They are certainly not poor, at least by the standards of all previously existing societies: they are not hungry; they have cell phones, cars, and many other appurtenances of modernity; they are dressed fashionably—according to their own fashion—with a uniform disdain of bourgeois propriety and with gold chains round their necks…. They believe they have rights, and they know they will receive medical treatment, however they behave. They enjoy a far higher standard of living (or consumption) than they would in the countries of their parents' or grandparents' origin, even if they labored there 14 hours a day to the maximum of their capacity…”

Paris Burning by Robert Spencer

(6Nov05)“…Riots have now continued for eight days in and around Paris. Thursday night, November 3, Muslim rioters burned 315 cars . In the previous week, they torched 177 vehicles and burned numerous businesses , a post office and two schools. How many European Muslims share the sentiments of Mohammed Bouyeri? (Murderer of Theo Van Gogh in Holland , November 2004) How many of these are rioting this week in Paris ?”   Paris Burning by Robert Spencer “..Alleviating Muslim unemployment and poverty will not ultimately do anything to alter this rejection of European values by growing numbers of people who are only geographically Europeans. And the problem cannot be ignored….. The abject failure of the multiculturalist philosophy that disparate groups can coexist within a nation without any idea that they must share at least some basic values. The French are paying the price today for blithely assuming that France could absorb a population holding values vastly different from that of the host population without negative consequences for either…”

The Second Draft

(2Nov05)“…This website is devoted to exploring some of the problems and issues that plague modern journalism. In this age of globalization, the media has unprecedented influence on the way we see the world. And yet, whether out of misplaced good intentions, unconscious agendas and predispositions, or unwarranted faith in false information, they can get the story dramatically wrong…” The Second Draft "..Therefore, we want to revisit and critique journalism's "first draft of history", and hopefully produce a more accurate second one. In our current investigations we present the story the way the mainstream media initially told it, introduce further evidence, and let you decide what you think really happened….”  I think you'll find this 18 min clip Pallywood  particularly instructive.

You smoke. He drinks. We all need help

(1Nov05)“..One of George Best's favourite (and most over-repeated) anecdotes concerns the time that he won a bundle of cash in a casino. He chucked the dosh on his bed in the Savoy , ordered champagne and waited for Miss UK to finish getting undressed in the bathroom. When the waiter came in with the booze, he was confronted by a bed covered in pound notes and by Miss UK in all her glory coming naked out of the bathroom. His comment was: "Forgive me for asking, Mr Best, but where did it all go wrong?" You smoke. He drinks. We all need help Oliver James (The Independent) “..Our national attitude was more ambivalent. Part of us agreed with the story he told. We admired his freedom - not just on the pitch - and, in the Sixties, his slim, trendily mop-topped embrace of the role of working-class lad made good (the tabloids dubbed him the Fifth Beatle). We also vicariously enjoyed his subsequent refusal to grow up, settle down and realise the meaning of the word "enough". He was our (alcoholically) licensed Peter Pan..”
