ISLAMISM - BEYOND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS

(10Sept 06) This is an absolute disgrace…Take it up with your local, state and federal politicians!

“….Australia has granted asylum to five men who claim their membership of an organisation accused of ties to al-Qa'ida would expose them to persecution in their home countries. The men from Syria , Egypt and India sought protection on the basis of their membership of the Muslim Brotherhood, which has been banned in Syria and is considered the father of terrorist groups including al-Qa'ida. Osama bin Laden's right-hand man Ayman al-Zawahiri adopted the organisation… US terror expert Steven Emerson said the practice of allowing Muslim Brotherhood members into Australia was "extremely dangerous"… The worrying statistic is not only the number of those who were accepted by the Refugee Review Tribunal as refugees because they could prove that they belonged to the Brotherhood BUT the far greater number who were rejected because they could not do so…” ISLAMISM - BEYOND POLITICAL CORRECTNESS by Paul Stenhouse “….The Department of Immigration accepts as a datum that ‘The Muslim Brotherhood is not an extremist group…. If the Egyptian government and the Syrians – not noted for squeamishness in dealing with militant opposition – fear the Muslim Brothers then Australia would be foolish to think it knows better…The militant wing of Hamas is attached to the Brothers, and both its founders belonged to the brotherhood… If proving that you belong to the Brotherhood entitles you to refugee status in Australia , then it entitles you to citizenship also; and nothing can prevent your setting up a branch of the Brotherhood in a nearby supermarket. How can the anonymous Australian bureaucrats who decide the criteria to be applied to seekers of asylum, know that ‘the Brotherhood,' is not still  ‘work[ing] under the Islamic doctrine of "concealment" ( kitman ) in order to "Islamize" the country'? Only this time, ‘the country' is not Egypt , Syria , the Sudan , Algeria or Palestine , but Australia ….”

The Futility of Interfaith Dialogue

(28April06) I have always thought of the Orwellian sounding practice of “Interfaith Dialogue” to be nothing more than a snow job on the dangerously naïve and ignorant. Those I know that attend such seminars report that this description pretty well hits the mark. So it's interesting to see Mark Alexander ( Dawning Of A New Dark Age ) arriving at the same conclusion. It's also interesting to note that at  a recent Affinity Interfaith evening at the Riverside Theatre Parramatta question time was cancelled due to the presence of some pesky people who have habit of asking the tough questions. So much for dialogue.

“…Have you ever wondered about this thing called 'interfaith dialogue ' - the dialogue so beloved by our weak politicians and clergy?... to serve any purpose, there must be a possibility of finding some middle ground. A compromise must be found. If it is not possible to find a compromise, then engaging in dialogue becomes not only futile, but meaningless, too…. In Islam, we have a faith which is diametrically opposed to everything Christianity says is true…” The Futility of Interfaith Dialogue by Mark Alexander “…Interfaith dialogue' is a mechanism thought up by the weak and ineffectual in a desperate attempt to find a solution to the growing chasm in Western society, a chasm between the ever-growing Muslim population and the rest...  Our politicians, because they have lacked the foresight to see the inevitable outcome of their lax immigration laws, because they have lacked the courage to enact sensible laws to stem the growing problem of immigration in this country, and because they have failed to lead, they have got us all into a fine mess…”

Do We Need Religion? Part 1

(21April06)“…Ali Sina is the Iranian ex-Muslim behind the website faithfreedom.org . Along with other former Muslims such as Ibn Warraq, Sina is spearheading what may be the first organized movement of ex-Muslims in Islamic history, made possible during the past ten to fifteen years by Muslim immigration to the West and the growth of the Internet….It is no exaggeration to say that if the likes of Ali Sina, Ibn Warraq and Wafa Sultan prevail in the face of the traditional death penalty for leaving Islam, then Islam will never again be the same. This is the soft underbelly of Islam ….According to Ali Sina, the West is now a moral relativistic society, where the vacuum created by religion is sorely felt. But at the same time, Sina questions whether a return to religion is the way to go…..I have found that the West at the beginning of the 21st century is mired in an internal cultural battle , an ideological civil war over the purpose of the West that is sometimes so severe that combined with Muslim immigration it could even trigger physical civil wars in several Western nations in the near future….” Do We Need Religion? Part 1 by Wolfgang Bruno “…O ne of the contenders is what I will label the ideology of egalitarianism, of which Multiculturalism is the most prominent component. If you analyze the ideology of Egalitarianism, is has Marxist roots in ideas about forced equality. Basically, it says that all cultures are more or less equal, and that there is nothing particular about Western civilization that makes it worth preserving. It may even be worse than all other cultures. To display attachment to your own culture is considered racism and frowned upon. As is to be expected with its Marxist roots, it has its stronghold of support in the political Left. However, what makes Egalitarianism and Multiculturalism particularly dangerous is that its support transcends that of the traditional Left and has penetrated deep into the traditional Right, too. As long as large parts of our elites adhere to the notion that all cultures are equal, it will be impossible to mount any defense of the West. Which means that Multiculturalism and Egalitarianism need to be discredited if Europe is to have any chance of surviving….”

Muslims and PC

(30Mar06) “…The major problem facing American Muslims today is not active prejudice or government harassment; it's political correctness…. The essence of political correctness is privileged treatment provided solely due to an individual or group's ethnic background…. One factor concerning PC that's usually overlooked is that it actually has little to do with the race or ethnicity that it purports to protect. Ever since its rise in the1980s (and even in its embryonic state in previous decades) political correctness has been all about the whites who administer it, the bureaucratic and academic elites who select the privileged groups and set down the rules that the rest of us are supposed to obey. It's their agenda that PC actually serves – the supposed victim groups come in a poor second, if at all..” Muslims and PC by J.R. Dunn in The American Thinker “… This can clearly be seen in the way that blacks fared under the PC regime…Now culturally embedded as the sole method of dealing with “vulnerable minorities,” PC is operating in much the same way with regard to Muslims…. Ethnic disorders are similar to tsunami – there's no buildup, no real warning, there's simply a roar and the thing is upon you…. We must never forget that PC is not an invention of the Muslim minority, any more than it was of American blacks. Political correctness is and has always been a tool of the Leftist elite. If anyone is to be called to account for its abuse, it should be them – the politicians, the academics, the bureaucrats, and the media types whose power and position is bolstered and secured by misuse of the ethnic card…” Arson, rape, massacres ... and the strange silence of the archbishop

(7Mar06) “…Like Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, Mao Tse-tung, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein and Slobodan Milosevic, the Islamists of Sudan claim monstrous liars are libelling them. 'You are terrorists,' Abdel Rahim Mohammed Hussein, the regime's defence minister, screamed at journalists in Khartoum on Thursday…. Fashion matters and today the fashion is to ignore genocide. Quite rightly, the crimes of American, British, European and Israeli democracy are dissected and denounced. But an intellectual blockage - a Chinese wall in the mind - prevents the critics applying universal principles to far greater outrages… The Archbishop of Canterbury, Rowan Williams, made my point for me in Sudan last week.” Arson, rape, massacres ... and the strange silence of the archbishop  by Nick Cohen “..On a visit to a church in Khartoum , the fearless archbishop told the congregation: 'It will be a joy to share with fellow Christians in Britain what... I have learnt from you.' What he had learnt was a history of massacre, slavery and second-class citizenship, but he didn't mention it…And so it went on. He travelled through a country torn by religious mania and genocide without mentioning religious mania and genocide… The confusion isn't confined to the General Synod of the Church of England. The United Nations tried to suppress a report that named the alleged war criminals of Darfur, in a way that it would never have suppressed the names of alleged torturers at Guantanamo … Why isn't every liberal newspaper and liberal party fulminating?”

Leftist revisionism calls Crusaders 9/11 terrorists

(25Mar06)“…It seems that the historical revisionists and terrorist appeasers are at it again. A recent Victorian textbook has made a comparison between the Crusades and the September 11 terrorist attack. Defenders of the textbook say it is merely being deliberately provocative and designed to spark debate…the Crusades were simply the reaction of the Christian West to more than three centuries of Islamic expansion, mistreatment of Christian populations in the Holy Lands, and harassment of religious pilgrims….Christians in Jerusalem often suffered terribly under the Muslims. So many Christians wanted to reclaim the Holy Lands from Muslim rule. But to equate this with what happened on September 11 is ludicrous… . Leftist revisionism calls Crusaders 9/11 terrorists by Bill Muehlenberg BrookesNews.co “..Indeed, one can argue that September 11 was a continuation of the principle of Islamic expansion, begun 1400 years earlier — the very thing the Crusaders were responding to…. of equal concern with this textbook incident is that this is but another tedious example of how far to the left our teaching establishment has become, and how many of our educational elite simple despise their own heritage and culture. This anti-Christian, anti-Western mindset is characteristic of our Politically Correct education establishment…Will we soon be seeing textbooks comparing the Green movement with the Ku Klux Klan in order to be “deliberately provocative”? Or will we have textbooks drawing parallels between Aboriginal dreamtime spirituality and the Raelian cult in order to help students “tease out ideas”?

“The Code of Conduct”

(22Mar06) Here it is, its original format, “The Code of Conduct” Balgowlah Boys High 1959

Bring Back Stigma

(21Mar06) This goes back a number of years but is an excellent read none the less

It is now orthodox to regard social stigma as a form of oppression, to be discarded on our collective quest for inner freedom. But the political philosophers and novelists of former times would have been horrified by such a view. In almost all matters that touched upon the core requirements of social order, they believed that the genial pressure of manners, morals, and customs—enforced by the various forms of disapproval, stigma, shame, and reproach—was a more powerful guarantor of civilized and lawful behavior than the laws themselves….Stigma has evaporated in our era, and along with it much of the constant, small-scale self-regulation of the community, which depends on each individual's respect for, and fear of, other people's judgment….But stigma is now retreating even from crime. Convicted thieves and burglars are no longer automatically excluded from social gatherings. Indeed, some (such as the English criminal Howard Marks) have acquired kudos from writing about their "hot-headed youth" and the jolly times they had as drug dealers, robbers, or burglars…” Bring Back Stigma by Roger Scruton, City Journal  “… The odd result of this movement to reject stigma, however, has been the introduction of stigma of another kind. "Judgmental" people find themselves condemned with a vehemence that would have gone down well in Salem….Stigma floats free in the anarchic world of individualist life-styles, ready to attach itself to anyone who stands up for self-restraint. It is in this context that we should understand political correctness. The new kind of stigma creates a new kind of fear. Political correctness is not a morality in the traditional sense… It tells you to watch your language, so as to avoid the only prevalent adverse judgment, which is judgment of the adverse judge….The talk of "social inclusion" is a mask for the reverse. Political correctness does not seek to include the Other in "our" community but to accept his otherness and allow him to live outside… The dwindling of stigma inevitably means that the task of social control is bequeathed to the state. The state has therefore become the guardian of social order.”

Living in fear, lost for words

(5Mar06)Instead of ideas, party leaders look for brands and sub-contract the job of image creation to think tanks, public relations agencies or marketing organisations….Take some of the so-called "Hurrah Words" that trip off the tongues of public figures. Everybody is for diversity, transparency, social cohesion, inclusion, best practice, evidence-based policy, adding value and stakeholding. But what does any of it mean? Living in fear, lost for words by Professor Frank Furedi “...Take a key Hurrah Word: diversity. Celebrating the value of diversity is a roundabout way of saying that society has no values with a distinct purpose to celebrate. Diversity has no intrinsic political or moral meaning…Diversity merely provides a rhetorical strategy for avoiding the challenging task of outlining what society stands for by claiming that it stands for anything…It says little about what distinguishes that society and what ought to be its aspiration…It is precisely because politics is lost for words that politicians would rather close down discussion about what it is we are defending and fighting for than engage with it through the force of its ideas…”

Frank Furedi is professor of sociology at the University of Kent, and author of The Politics of Fear: Beyond Left and Right (Continuum, $35)

Time for St George to start slaying dragons again

(27Jan06)“…We used to treat political correctness, an extremist form of secular morality which emerged from the American civil rights movement of the 1960s, as a joke, and its activities often reflect humourless puritanism which is itself risible. But I no longer find the thing funny. PC rules have an increasing habit of getting themselves enshrined in statutes, and enforced with rigour on bewildered offenders.” Time for St George to start slaying dragons again by Paul Johnson, The Spectator, December 2005 “…I have the impression that most PC advocates and enforcers in this country are women in their thirties or forties, with some education of a red-brick or white-tile nature, no longer young enough to be much interested in sex but old enough to have acquired a certain modest authority in their work, which is overwhelmingly in the state sector…They are mainly bureaucrats, in the state-education system, both local and national, librarians, office-holders in the administrative side of the NHS, minor potentates in town halls and government agencies, law centres, environmental pressure groups, charities and other religion substitutes…In some ways it is a bigger threat to our wellbeing than its progenitor Marxism, because more ubiquitous and less visibly threatening. Its weapon is not tanks or the H-bomb but mind-decay…”

Only way out for addicts is to say no

(14Oct05) “Thank God for the Salvos. In treating alcoholics and other addicts, the Salvation Army still aims for complete abstinence rather than so-called "controlled" drinking or drug use….No matter how long they have been sober, alcoholics in the Bridge Program and in AA always speak of their alcoholism in the present tense: "My name is ... and I am an alcoholic."…. in the past 25 years in Australia an anti-abstinence orthodoxy has become entrenched in health department practice and policy, with extremely unfortunate results…” Only way out for addicts is to say no by Ross Fitzgerald “… What is particularly damaging is that alcoholics and their families are given the false hope that controlled drinking is a viable option and that abstinence is not necessary for alcoholics and other addicts….For more than 40 years the Salvation Army has kept the faith in its commitment to total abstinence as the prime therapeutic goal for alcoholics and other addicts. Fortunately we are now beginning to see a return to the abstinence model by an increasing number of psychologists and medical practitioners, and to once again valuing AA as the most effective form of long-term therapy for Australians addicted to alcohol.”

Why do we tolerate intolerance?

(23Sept05) “…Red Cross officials have been meeting in Switzerland to decide upon a new logo — and presumably, by implication, name — for their fine organisation. The logo in question is the red cross. And the problem with the cross is that it enrages Muslims.” Why do we tolerate intolerance? Rod Liddle (Spectator Magazine) “..When Islam appears on the agenda, the goalposts are moved: the normal rational thought processes are not applied. Suddenly those Left-liberal shibboleths are not very important: they can be forgotten. Append the description ‘Muslim' to anyone and all bets are off; he or she can get away with pretty much anything, be it the execution of homosexuals or the idea that Jews and Freemasons are running the government...”

Disability allowances

(18Sept05)“…In the madhouse of today's Britain, even the crack addict and the violent thug can be classified as disabled under anti-discrimination regulations…..almost any selfish or dangerous conduct can now be categorised as mental illness. In this twisted world all concepts of morality and personal responsibility have been lost, replaced by a determination to medicalise every behavioural problem.” Disability allowances by Leo McKinstr y , Spectator Magazine “..Any attempt to tell them to behave in a civilised manner is a form of discrimination in itself….The ever-expanding definition of disability is no frivolous matter. For it has allowed those with personal problems, like alcoholism or drug addiction, to wallow in a permanent sense of grievance, regarding themselves as victims of a medical condition….While tens of millions of ordinary Britons work hard in their jobs, the field of employment law is now geared towards those who want to evade their responsibilities…”

Report card fails postmodern student assessments

(11Sept05) “…Australians love competitive sport and the idea of winners and losers. Australian parents also want to know how well their children are traveling against others at school and whether they have passed or failed…Instead of pass or fail, student progress or lack of progress is clouded by such politically correct terms as beginning, established, consolidating or emerging, solid, comprehensive..” Report card fails postmodern student assessments by Kevin Donnelly in The Australian “.. While parents want an end to politically correct reports, the same cannot be said for those seeking to control our education system….The next time you drive across a bridge, hope that the engineers knew and respected the laws of physics and that their understanding was not at the "beginning" or "emerging" stage…. Not only do students in Japan , Singapore and The Netherlands regularly out-perform Australian students in international maths and science tests, but thousands of Australian students enter secondary schools illiterate and innumerate…”.

Parents: Watch out for 'Constructivist Math

(23Apr05) "The curriculum is designed to address the failure to teach mathematics to girls and ethnic minorities -- not by creating high expectations, but by abandoning standards.." Parents: Watch out for 'Constructivist Math "We have replaced elitism with dull uniformity; rigor with smile buttons; pride in accomplishment with pride in showing up...Who would you prefer to have operating on you -- a surgeon driven by perfectionism or one taught through the years that exactitude isn't everything, and that even the most miserable performance is worth a gold star and a hug?"

How America has become a multicultural madhouse

(9Mar05) “…multiculturalism had been conjured up solely to serve as a battering ram, "a philosophy of antagonism to America and the West," an "attack on America, the European-American culture, and the white race, with special emphasis on white males, writes David Kupelian in How America has become a multicultural madhouse   “Today, in the rarified but toxic air of multiculturalism and political correctness, all cultures and all values are of equal value: The most ignorant, oppressive, suffocating, women-hating culture, where young people's hands and feet are amputated as punishment for petty offenses, is now worthy of equal respect to Western culture…”

Whiteness Studies.

(20Mar05)“….The essence of the discipline can be summed up in two words: Hating Whitey….Welcome to Whiteness Studies.

The stated goal of Whiteness Studies enthusiasts is to make race-consciousness a permanent part of American life for white people…. True to its Marxist underpinnings, Whiteness Studies ultimately seeks solace in revolution, overthrowing or destroying “whiteness” and the whole wicked society that contains it…”

Orwellian State at the UN Women's Conference

(12Mar05)“…When the Sisterhood speaks of “equality,” equal opportunities for men and women are the last thing they have in mind….. When feminists claim to be in favor of gender equality, they are really referring to a genderless society. “Gender equality” means “genderless society.” Get it?.... Then there's the mantra of “women's empowerment”---That one is even more disingenuous. Orwellian State at the UN Women's Conference

Feminists think of “empowerment” in the neo-Marxist sense – inducing women to become angry and resentful, thus driving a wedge between the sexes and undermining marriage, the most fundamental unit of society…

Propaganda is a slippery slope. Once you tell an untruth, you have to come up with more falsehoods in order to be consistent."

Sensitive New Age Dills

(1Mar05) Andrew Bolt serves it up to Catherine Lumby in Sensitive New Age Dills “….I've long thought a big stick helps a bozo to hear better, but Lumby's report is a model of faddish thinking on crime and punishment, relying on two fatal notions: that we can reason anyone out of being a bastard, and can trust him to "negotiate" their morality……you can imagine how much notice was paid last month by (Dane) Tilse and some 60 other NRL boofs when they sat in the first of the lectures recommended by Lumby – six hours of sensitivity training…”

The Silence of the Feminists

(6Feb05) Oh dear, What a web we weave “…Dislike of George Bush's foreign policy has led to an automatic support of those perceived to be his enemies” writes Pamela Bone from The Age in The Silence of the Feminists  “….this leaves the left defending people who hold beliefs that condone what the left has long fought against: misogyny, homophobia, capital punishment, suppression of freedom of speech”   “……The problem with politely ignoring abuses of human rights because "it's their culture" is that it lets down the brave liberals and democrats and human rights defenders…”

The nation is quite drunken enough

(7Jan05)“…The Government, whose solution to any social problem is to make it worse, now proposes that the British, having conclusively proved that they cannot (or rather, will not) control themselves, should be granted even more license to make a public nuisance of themselves whenever they feel like it, which is often….” writes Theodore Dalrymple in The nation is quite drunken enough

"Teaching in 1960s crackers," says inspector

(oct 2004)"The head of the government's education watchdog last night launched an unprecedented attack on teaching in primary schools in the 1960s and 1970s, claiming that much of it had been "plain crackers".David Bell, the chief inspector of schools, admitted he had come "off the fence" in criticising a succession of Labour and Conservative government education policies which for two decades had left children to learn for themselves." says Rebecca Smithers, education editor of the Guardian, in her article "Teaching in 1960s crackers", says inspector, which appeared on 6 October 2004

The Peter Pan Establishment'

(30Aug04 ) This is one of the best pieces on the Frankfurt School yet. In ' The Peter Pan Establishment' Melanie Phillips of The Daily Mail observes…. “The sixties set in train changes in British society which can be said to have transformed it into a different country altogether— and one which has not altogether advanced the cause of civilization”.

“Who would have imagined that in 2004, Britain would have a ruling class heavily influenced by people who have never grown out of their sixties' morality-busting radicalism and are even now, in their respectable middle age, busy translating it into official policy?”.

“The astounding thing about the sixties cultural revolution is that, although its casualties are all around us in lonely, depressed adults and abandoned children, it is still running its destructive course. Those who were in its vanguard are still driving it on. They appear to have learned nothing.”

Political Correctness, Or The Perils of Benevolence

(1 July04 ) This piece 'Transgressing the Boundaries etc' by NYU Physics Professor Alan D Sokal is from the Post Modernism Essay Generator. It runs to 45 pages and is a totally meaningless hoax . However it was actually published as legitimate commentary in a cultural criticism publication.

This is the Postmodern Essay Generator- It generates Indecipherable Postmodern Pap- as they point out, each essay is totally meaningless but it sure as hell looks good and will probably get you 10 out of 10 if submitted in a real life exam.

An Examination of Political Correctness

There has been a great deal of talk in the last week…(Isn’t there always) about the evils of Political Correctness. Make no mistake political correctness is just a cute euphemism for Social and Cultural Marxism. It’s about ordering and controlling what we think, say and do.
When you read "AN EXAMINATION OF POLITICAL CORRECTNESS" you will understand the evil and dangers of PC and why it must be held up to ridicule, scorn and derision and attacked at every opportunity.
